Note that i qualified that remark about 5 years. I am in no means saying that we should just accept mediocrety. I just don't want to fire a Coach after 3 years because he is not winning National titles with someone elses players. Do you really beleive that Frank Solich, Ty Willingham, or Ron Zook got a fair shake?

Again i am not saying we should not fire a coach if he shows that he just can't do it at that level.

I am curious as to where most of the posters here draw the line with fire a coach based on performance. reply and shed some light on the situation for me.

ok i think solich got a fair shake. I saw their program decline regardless the amount of wins it was nothing close to the product he took over. if i was a big red fan im sure i woulda felt even more strongly about it. however, thats if you have a better replacement which obviously they did not. Houston Nutt played em for all littlerock was worth. Solich was caught in the follow a legend phenomenon in a changed landscape similar to smoke, zook, now les and many others in that precarious situation.

Ty Willingham--I cant decide because he won 8 games his first year then was below average after that. Ill let you know my answer if Weis wins 8 games with little talent. If he does then yes willingham gets a yes as well.

zook, yes. he knew the expectations right or wrong and didnt live up to it. the people paying the bills decide so fair is fair. plus he acted an ass in quite a few instances.

i think if you take over a winning program with the top talent in the land, your honeymoon period lasts until the first game. You gotta win and win big. especially given the expectations from a recent NC. winning big would be 9 or 10 wins and an SEC hotlanta trip with at least some chance to compete for the NC. if not a new years day bowl.

success at ole myth is a different animal. cutcliffe was screwed imo. they will see when vandi rolls them this saturday. it wont be pretty. they are bad and all they have now is sideshow on the sideline for entertainment and prayers nightly Eli isnt gay or "Cupper" knocks someone up. they should taken their 7-8 wins and lived happily ever after.

Absoultely, right, Boston! Everyone needs to know the State of Louisiana & LSU Football in its newly renovated #1 ranked most feared Tiger Stadium is back in business.

The entire college football world could get a look at LSU in the aftermath of the tragedy. The story is too great not to be told! Despite my concerns about the pass defense, I just have a hunch this season is going to be quite special. I'm praying Tennessee can pull this one out in Gainesville & leap ahead of LSU in the polls so there can be a game between two Top 5 teams in Death Valley, the first time since 1959.

If the above scenario happens & Gameday comes to Baton Rouge, the electricity and buildup for this game will be unreal. No doubt the game would end up as a "classic" and be billed as the #1 game in College Football for the year. LSU has the magic and the fans to make it happen.

Go Vols! LSU is your biggest fan this week. Please make our dreams come true.
