If Saban would have gotten more out of his QB at the begining of the year his team would be playoff bound. He will be in Miami for at least one more year.

If he'd have picked up Drew Brees instead of Culpepper, he would not be worried about his QB's play in the beginning of the season. Glad he didn't, though.

I don't doubt that there's some kindling burning under all that smoke, but I still don't see Saban at Bama and they had better quit dreaming about him and start trying to find a coach. IF Nick was somehow to leave the Dolphins, I would bet that there are a number of NFL owners who would jump at the chance to talk to him.

I reported this on another thread that Mal and PBJ were ready to wait it out for saban but the rest of the Board of trustees wanted to go after Rodriguez.. I can assure you there is no one on their list again that does not include Saban being #1.

My question is what is Saban smoking if he is even considering this? Think about it. He could have pretty much done what he wanted in Baton Rouge. We just didn't have the cash to keep him around but he pretty much would have had free reign and possibly the AD position by now if he had stayed. At Miami he has complete control which is what he requires anywhere he goes. Now if he goes to Alabama he will be at the mercy of a powerful and, as we have seen in some latest news reports, a very meddling Bama booster contingent. Why would he subject himself to that?

For the money and the visibility, just like his last three moves. It keeps him in the top tier. No, Nick would not be a good fit at Bama and would probably be chasing another NFL offer within four years.

But a lot of Bammers think that they really need a strong-willed individual like Nick to stand up to the BOT and back them off from meddling with the football program. It may take someone like Nick to make the changes needed at UA. He has no ties to Alabama and will not have to live there after he shakes things up and then moves on.

He has that now...without the guys standing around corners going "Psst, Nick...lemme talk to you a minute". No matter who they hire they will have to deal with that and I don't think Saban cares who wants him to stand up to the BOT. He doesn't want that hassle. He has a job that pays well and gives him the challenge he wants. The only way he would leave is if the Dolphins started pulling in the reigns. That doesn't appear to be happening.

"No matter how often Dolphins coach Nick Saban says he is not interested in the vacant Alabama coaching job, the school will not listen. A source close to the situation said that Alabama keeps on making runs at Saban and that it will not, under any circumstances, take no for an answer. One NFL head coach even said he had been told that Saban was getting closer to accepting a job at Alabama." -- NFL.com

Bama. They either know their man . . . or they are screwing up completely.
