Ummm, you are a christian. Thus, christianity exist. Who argues this & what does it prove? We dismiss faith-based beliefs, not history.
I see where you are coming from. Maybe I changed the subject a bit then. I was talking about the history of christianity and that there are some historical evidence of the bible vs theories that are just that. Just saying that not only is Christianity history, it could be a theory of how everything was created since there is some biblical evidence in the world.
I hope you are being sarcastic... But since I don't think you are, no - I never said there's no history or evidence of things in the bible. There is proof that lots of historical things talked about in the bible actually happened. What I question is whether Jesus was the son of god, etc etc.
Actually I'm having fun with you guys so don't take it too personal. I understand, I see My point is that we have proof things in the bible did happen so why can't that be a theory in school like other theories? Other theories that could have the same, more or less evidence? Thats all I'm trying to say here.
Here is where chaos theory comes into play. You make many assumptions, anyway. Why would the big bang have to be perfectly spherical and symmetrical? Nature rarely provides such.
That there was ever matter to begin with that would "explode" without some force causing said explosion is a big enough of an assumption to begin with. Why not continue on?
These are social studies topics not science. And they should be taught in school in History or Religion classes.
It is clear from all of these posts that you have very little or absolutely no understanding of what evolution is. It constantly amazes me how this relatively simple, and entire logical concept frightens the hell out of so many people. Anyway, please LsuCraig, if evolution does not exist, please explain to me how and why we have such things as antibiotic resistant bacteria. If there was no evolution, we would never need to develop new medicines because old ones would never cease to work. On another level, lets look at cancer. This spectrum of diseases basically boils down to evolution. A cell or population of cells mutates. This mutation confers a survival advantage compared to other cells and these cells begin to rapidly expand and so on and so on, you see where I am going. The same things occur on the level of the organism and species, just over a MUCH MUCH longer period of time. At its core it is a surprisingly simple concept and really makes no impact on weather or not there is or isn't an invisible man in the sky watching over us.
I didn't do the research on this stuff, scientists did so tell them they have no understanding. But let's take a look at cancer. Cancer or AIDS, any virus, mutates to avoid being killed by drugs or the body. It will continue to mutate......but it stays a virus. It doesn't change into a new species.......that's evolution. When a cancer virus mutates into a dog, call me. Darwin's theory attempts to explain new species.......a series of small, random mutations that creates a NEW organ. Secondly, you continue to bring up God or religion. I don't acre about religion int his thread. This is about evolution and how it isn't a fact.
