We did have instant reply in Tiger stadium ONE time. The date was Nov. 4, 2000 , LSU 30 vs. Bams 28. As you may recall, although the officials denied using the Jumbotron, it clearly saved the day. I am having a senior moment and cannot remember what the call was about but it was a game changing call. Here's a photo of the LSU players pointing at the screen:
The call you referring to was over a fumble. I believe we muffed a punt, but recovered the fumble. It was clear as night and day. An LSU player landed on the ball and no Bama players were around. The refs first signaled in error that Bama had recovered. The players pointed to the screen and stayed on the field untill the call was reversed. The call would have given Bama the ball in the redzone or close to it.
