Thank you. Attack Tiger must be reeling from his own spin.

If the play with Magee works, he looks like a genius. It's a fine line sometimes. I would do more second-guessing of all the play calls outside of the 1st drive and the deep ball to Beckham(which actually worked but was fumbled).

That's the height of hilarity. He couldn't give anything away even if he wanted to. It's all been given long ago.

And yet, his words seem to contradict your sensationalist drivel.

I love how people are attacking Miles for having "too much" say in the offense and NONE in the defense.

That's not how head coaching works. The head coach may or may not delegate, but since he is one most ultimately responsible, of course, he has the final word on both sides of the ball.

And it should go without saying that NO Tiger fan is more disgusted when we lose than Miles. NONE.

Les needs to keep his paws out of it. It's shown the issue is systemic and he's the common denominator. It would be fine if it worked or if qbs showed development. They never develop a qb therefore he never trusts his passing game.

his ego should take a step back and realize this since he feels so bad we lost last week or shutout to start the new year when you had 2 months to prepare differently. Even he should understand its his antiquated philosophy holding them back.

Of course every hc makes decisions regarding every aspect of their team-usually by hiring someone more qualified If its shown that they are not.

5 years is about 3 years too large of a sample. It's time to move on. To something more diverse. I'm fine with being a run first team. But you must develop and trust your qb along the way. Not by hiding them as we have done year after year.

Maybe if spurrier coaches defense this week it'll balance things out.

Can't blame Mettenberger for Odelle Bechkham's dropped pass. He catches that ball and goes down at the 20 yardline we have an opportunity to go up by a touchdown. In games like that you have't to take advantage of every situation. Florida sure took advantage of every situation that was brought out to them. It was a home game for the gators and it was a very big one verse the LSU Tigers. They were clearly playing well above their heads, but looking at the replay of the game last Saturday and looking at the first half we looked like the better team all around. we had an opportunity to go up 10-0 at half and instead went up 6-0. Florida just came out and made adjustments and we did not. Miles or noone needs to be blamed it was a hard faught game and had we not comitted soo many damn penalties and turnovers we would have won the game... I will be at the game as I always am and I can almost guarantee a victory over South Carolina. Trust me we are a better team in every catergory... Not to mention this game is being played in Baton Rouge...

What I don't get is the absolute certainty by some that Miles is standing on the sidelines vetoing offensive plays. I have no idea (and I don't believe anyone else here -- other than maybe bhelm -- does either) exactly how offensive (or defensive, for that matter) plays get from the pressbox to the huddle. I suspect that as the prior play is wrapping up, or when it ends, the offensive coordinator radios it down to two or more playcallers on the sidelines (probably back up qbs) who relay it in using hand signs (and another playcaller is probably giving bogus signs). There's also probably at least one coach who yells out personnel groupings to get the proper players on the field.

And all of this has to happen, at a minimum, within 20 seconds. That's to give the QB time to huddle the team, make the call, get them to the line, check off if necessary and snap the ball before the play clock runs out.

So, if I understand some the critics correctly, Miles either changes the play after it's called (and does this without a playcard) or the OC has to get clearance from Miles before he makes the call (essentially deciding on what the next play will be before the current one is done) or Miles just says "no" and the OC has to call another play. Again, all of this in about 20 seconds.

From a logistical standpoint it doesn't work. (Which might give some credence to those who point to Miles' clock management problems, actually.)

I find it much more believable that Miles has a say in the plays available to be called during the game and that this is done during game planning during the week. But even then, I don't think (and again, it's a think not a certainty) that during those meetings Miles says, "We're running this play and not that one." I'd guess it's more of, "This is where our opponent's weakness is, I think this type of play might be successful." In other words, this team is quick, let's concentrate on running at them. Or this team blitzes, let's concentrate on running screens.

No, they think Les is the real OC, that he confines Stud to a rigid set of plays for each game, and that we're basically paying him to sit up in the booth and throw darts at a playbook made by Les. And they'll point to Crowton complaining about Les tying his hands as evidence.
