1. Since when are the basic rights of Americans suspended? There are rules of engagment. I'm sure none of those rules include shooting unarmed men running away from you.
  2. As Red said, the truth will come out. I'm sure some will be punished but more as sacrificial lambs to appease the Sharptons and Jacksons than based upon proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
  3. Assuming the defense attorney(s) can get a change of venue, which seems like a no-brainer, the facts of the case will come out at trial. Until then, it's all futile speculation. There are clearly two viable sides here: 1 -- Katrina was a war zone, and officers acted reasonably in that environment, or 2 -- NOPD has some murderers on staff and they got caught.
