Of course not. You just have to get used to tirk's brand of Don Rickles humor.

I didn't care for PF Chang's, except for the Key Lime Pie Martini and the Ahi Tuna. The rest, to me, was unimpressive, and I didn't like the atmosphere.

that was me, i just have a mindless fascination with stereotypes. i am admittedly a boorish dumbass, but i do have the sense to not actually judge individuals by stereotypes. so i was kidding, and it is because i realize that stereotypes do not apply to everyone that i enjoy stupidly pretending they do. sometimes, by purposely and stupidly applying these charactizations too broadly, i am poking fun at myself, playing along as if i am too stupid to understand how generalizations work.

i would be delighted to know what negative stereotypes indians have for white people, and would be happy to consider myself the flag-bearer for these negatives.

In Gainesville two years ago we canceled our plans to camp at the local state park just after we got into town. We tried about four or five of the local "mom & pop" hotels on Hwy 25/441. They were roach infested dumps and were all operated by Indian/Pakistani persons, obviously recent arrivals. They were either full or wanted more than the Holiday Inn. There was the same strong smell in the office of each dump, err hotel. I don't really know how to describe it, had never smelled that before. I couldn't tell if it was some kind of Asian spices or just plain body odor.

We ended up at the Days Inn in Alachua, which is were we'll be again this year.

    Saag

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saag is a curry-like side dish eaten with Indian or Pakistani bread such as roti or naan. Saag can be made from spinach, mustard leaves, or other greens, along with added spices and sometimes other ingredients. A common form of saag is "Saag paneer", which contains a type of cheese known as paneer. Saag is more common in Punjab. There it is eaten more often with Makki di roti. This roti is made of corn flour and is yellow in colour. Though it can also be eaten with other Indian breads. When made with spinach and paneer, a common name for the dish is palak paneer. "Saag gosht" is version of the dish prepared with lamb and spinach. The lamb is usually cooked in a tandoor before being marinated in the other ingredients.

    It was curry.

East Indians have been buying US hotels like crazy in the last 10 years, not just Mom 'n' Pops and cheap motels, but major chain franchises, too. I've stopped in several of them and usually the hotel manager lives in the rooms just off the office and it smells strongly of curry.

Many Indian families have actually revived the true Mom 'n' Pop motels. Mom will manage the front desk, Dad does the maintenance, and the teenagers do the maid work.
