Increasing profanity. Is this a problem with anyone?

I have noticed, as I'm sure many of you have as well, the increasing use of profanity on this forum. After the hacking episode, apparently the filter was turned off, allowing the use of the F word, B-S, and other assorted epithets. I am hopeful this filter will be again turned back on. As fans of Tiger Nation, and this forum, I'd like to think that the majority of us are intelligent enough to find words more appropriate for discussion than the sewer language some feel they need to write to get their points across.

I agree with the plea for less profanity, but I like the concept that you're free to express yourself.

So far, no one has used profanity in a way that curses someone out. As a former trash mouth, I realize that profanity just becomes part of your vocabulary and has almost no extraordinary impact.

I used to actually like the way it just rolled off my tongue...:D

Freedoms are important. Including the freedom to create an image for yourself in the mind of the reader based on the language you choose. Personally I don't care what language you use to express yourself. I've always appreciated, however, the creativity and little extra effort that it takes to present yourself and your point without resorting to cussing.

I'd rather if we didn't have all the cursing. All we need now is a lot of posts with nothing but personal insults and emoticons, and you've got Tigerdroppings light.

I do support the point made by boblinfoto; and I like and agree with Steve, 420, and luvdimtigers posts. But this one made me smile.

To the point of the thread, profanity is like pornography; it's a judgement call. The line between expression and verbal abuse can be as hard to define as the line between nudity and porn.
