Yeah - I did (unfortunately) write that. Upon reflection...I was a tad - ahem - premature. :nope:

I didn't say BCS Championship, I said a championship of any sort. But yeah, the BCS Championship is still a possibility at this point as well as an SEC one.

I live in a world of reason. No, I don't think he had a horrible game. He did make some terrible throws, but he also did a lot of great things and made some great passes. And by the way, the coaches are stupid for calling a rollout pass in the end zone. Mauck had the same thing happen to him against Ole Miss in our 2003 run. If you underthrow it, most of the time, you're in trouble because the defense is playing tight on the goal line. It's a play that has too much risk and too little reward. That's coaching. But ultimately, Flynn made the terrible throw so he is to blame as well. It was an excellent catch though.

Crunch pretty much said everything I would have said in his response. Where did you get the 60% completion rate = consistent QB rule. Is that in the WAC football media guide this year? I'm having trouble finding it. You can complete 60% of your passes and suck. You can complete screens all over the field and pad your stats like some QBs do in different systems. Also, you can complete a ton of passes after your team is out of the game (like Aaron Brooks did) and suck with good statistics. What you do in crunch time against good teams matters a little more.

There's no doubt that Flynn has had some times this year where he has looked really bad. Some of the moments were due to injury, and some had nothing to do with his injury. He played a good part of the year with basically ZERO consistent receivers (and they basically had no experience). That isn't easy to do for anyone. We've played a killer schedule and you don't know much about the SEC if you think we should be killing these teams. Yes, we have a lot of talent. But these other teams are not far behind us at all. And the fact is that we don't have three losses, we have one. We've beaten FIVE ranked teams along the way and a few of them without our #1 and only consistent receiver. Now, Byrd has emerged and Flynn has more options. But you have to be fair. The weakest and most inexperienced part of our team coming into this year was the receiving unit. Flynn doesn't have first round NFL picks Buster Davis and D. Bowe to throw to in addition to others.

I think Flynn is doing well considering what he has had to work with and what teams he has had to play against. Most important, when the game is on the line, I have confidence in him. Go Tigers.

As a Saints fan, I can relate to Matts problems. His injury, Early's injury, and poor play by the other WRs, slowed the effectiveness of the passing O. If Flynn can carry over that 4th quarter play and get into that Brees like rythym with Doucet and Byrd the rest of the way, we can win it all!!!
