I was very glad that Lee was "spreading" the wealth by making passes to a multitude of players, somewhat reminding me of the Brees attack! I do hope JL continues to progress, taking inspiration from Brees Wonder if coach K can coach JL up to a different level of QB play like baiting the defense, etc.
Boy it would be great to see brees letting lsu qb's sit in on his summer workouts and learn from a future hall of fame qb.
He will bring him into the mix slowly. OB and JLandry have eraned there playing time for now. He could be at full speed by the Kent game and for sure by the Florida game.
A little optimistic aren't you? I'll settle for 1-2 catches with 18-30. Could be CLM will use him in a 'safety valve' mode initially. OCs are feeding JL just enough PAs to instill confidence in his play prior to heavy lifting starting with UF. :helmet: :crystal: :crystal: :crystal:
As far as punts, #7 hasnt had much of a chance - by the time he fields the ball, defense is there and waiting. I think our blocking has to get better for that to improve.
Having him back is going to be great, the threat he brings to the table will help take away defenders when he doesnt have the ball, the WR sweep play with his speed is another weapon WVU will be looking for, & now we will also have a TRUE WR lined up in the slot - HUGE plus for Lee. I agree that we shouldnt set our expectations too high, however, I have been waiting on this kid to show LSU fans what he showed me when I watched him in highschool. He has the abilities to be something very special to this team and leave LSU as one of the most electric playmakers to ever wear the P&G.....
I think Shep will be in on most every offensive snap (Plus a punt or kick-off return here or there). Unfortunately I think his main impact be felt - not really seen. His presence on the field will serve more as a decoy that will open up more catches for Randall and Beckham. Those two should have the REAL impact this week (thanks to Shep's return) I believe.
