It's not that time now. We have an organized government, despite what you might think, and are capable of handling this without renegades.
We have an organized tyrannical government and Americans are uncapable of doing anything together without someone feeling left out and complaining.
Nonsense. There is no country on the planet with the capability launch an offensive on our shores. Not one. It has been so since 1812. Our army is overstretched right now with troops on the ground dealing with conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the the Balkans. We will have difficulty rotating in infantry units in the near future because there are not enough to do the job. But our Navy and Air Force are the dominant mlitary forces on the planet and are entirely capable of defending American shores. No foreign navy even comes close. The Chinese Air Force is technically larger, but has no global capability and might as well be flying biplanes, they are so far behind in aerospace technology. A classic sitting duck. Our army will have to be beefed up if we are going to retain the ability to go anywhere in the world and occupy entire countries. But American military power is more than capable of defending us from any military threat to the homeland.
It's common knowledge to anyone who bothers to do a little research. Try: World Navies Today Warships of the world GlobalSecurity.org Janes Naval Forces I really like to hear you explain this one. Are you confusing illegal immigration with defense against invasion? Have you forgotton that any potential invader has to cross the Atlantic or Pacific oceans, which happen to be entirely dominated by the US Navy?
What is the number of illegal immigrants from other countries are smuggled into this country each year on cargo ships? You dont need huge ass war ships to move equipment and people.
You do in a war! The friggin' coast guard can defend us against an invasion coming from shipping containers.
I sit there and watch these political talk shows and watch one lie after another out of these people's mouths. I didn't want to call anyone on a lie but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'd love to talk about issues but no one can anymore. It turns into attacks or lies. If politicians weren't so worried about keeping their job, we could have honesty.
So let them complain. Who cares. Our government is the same as it's always been - it's no more tyrannical now than it used to be and there have always been those that disagree. Let them.
Our government is only as tyranical as the poeple allow it to be. America is an organic nation. That is why we are so rich nad pwerful, and always will be.
IMO, political discord has always been the defining characteristic of our nation. Then a majority in Congress occurs and issues get solved. On some level I agree with the Democrats when they say it is their job to oppose. Not oppose everything for the sake of opposition but for the advancement of their political ideology. Also, I think people misunderstand the role of the three branches of our government. One branch will always attempt to get more power for itself...or at least attempt to hold what power it has. It's a necessary fact of our governmental system that the executive branch will try to advance their power as much as they can until pushed back by the other 2 and round and round we go. That's why you have a White House legal team writing these opinions all the time when a committee asks to see White House documents. The legislative branch says it has the right (tryuing to advance their power), the executive says they don't (tryign to keep their power). Necessary give and take......... It's not that they are fighting. Each branch attempts to push the envelope in governmental decisions until slapped back by the others. THAT's what makes our country great.....not perfect but incredible in it's design. And unlike Bush always says, we are not a democracy. We are a republic. We are not advancing democracy around the world. We are advancing liberty and freedom......not democracy. We aren't even a democracy. Pet-peeve of mine.
