Sure it is. The least disruptive approach for redistribution of wealth would be changing the tax code to be more progressive and that's what you are advocating. Obama's plan is to give the bottom 95% of tax payers a tax cut. However, of that 95% 47% don't pay any income taxes to begin with. How can you give someone a tax cut when they don't pay taxes? You can't. It's called a government handout and is simply redistribution of wealth. Once again, I'm not telling you what you think. I'm just quoting what you said and you said you were for a 50% tax bracket for the most wealthy. Are you for Obama's tax cuts?
McCain has had cancer thats why i didnt call out Red. So what you dont understand or fail to mention that Obama just cant contract sickle cell, its not like its the flu or something. Sickle cell is a predominately African disease, but you have to have the genetic trait to get sickle cell. I dont know if Obama has it or not, but he has released his medical records, something McCain wont do. I am willing to bet that he doesnt carry the gene that produces sickle cell. Its a horrible disease and I know people affected by it, just like cancer which members of my family have died of, thats why I called him out. Thats why I didnt call out Red, he stated a fact, not a hypothetical situation.
If the potential for dying within the next 8 years were a valid consideration, you could not vote for anybody. Tomorrow is not promised. This notion that McCain is on his deathbed is preposterous and any response to that theory is warranted.
The percent of Americans who don't pay taxes is 38%. However that is not just poor non-filers, many are middle class taxpayers whose deductions and tax credits lower their taxes to zero. That's what I said. It is you who is trying to make taxation into a "redistribution of wealth issue". Everybody pays taxes. Nobody has to redistribute their money to anybody else except the government. 50% is a lot lower than the 70% that it once was and still is in many Western countries. I'm not for ANY tax cuts until we can balance our budgets again. Then we cut taxes by cutting spending, not just to get politicians elected. Cutting income while borrowing money to pay for wars and bailouts is irresponsible.
I agree. That's why I'm glad Bush isn't running again. Your opinion that the DEMS should get elected "because it's their turn" is preposterous.
