Something we agree on. Unfortunately I see the Republican party as a toxic mix of conservative values and liberal gameplans. I don't see how true conservatives can stomach what the Republican party has become. Of course, instead of voting third party myself, I am voting Obama for mostly foreign policy reasons and because of the way he carries himself and remains calm. I expect some domestic bullcrap out of Obama, but I am willing to let the Democrats have a go as the Republicans had their unfettered shot and buggered things up royally.

I've lost almost all faith in government, to be honest.

absolutely no spin. you wrote "spending freeze", mccain said "spending freeze", im just adding what you conveniently left out about the real meaning of "spending freeze"

i wasnt debating which candidate would spend less money. seems like youre avoiding your own point. so is it a "spending freeze" or not. if not, then dont spin by using the term.

Take it anyway you want to. But characterizing CNN as "left-wing" is a lame attempt to discredit it.

The statement is undocumented. It's not false unless you prove it false.

Is it possible for you to debate without getting contentious?

This site lists the proposed new spending of the candidates but does not subtract the proposed spending cuts of the candidates. That was the gist of the CNN piece and that is how they arrived at their figures.

I was responding to your comment "Since so many small businesses file as individuals, they will be taxed higher as well." Yes, some individuals filing as sole proprietor may be taxed at a higher rate, but it is not the discredited numbers bandied around by McCain. 37 million small businesses would be 1 out of 11 men, women and children in the US. "The actual number of business owners who would be affected turns out to be well under a million, and the number of employers would be even less. -- Factcheck.org"

You did not address the fact than Obama is also proposing tax relief for those same small businesses.

I totally Agree with this post. But I'm still not voting Obama or McCain.

CNN is left slanted. I think they're sometimes better than Fox as far as presenting both sides of the story, but their main diet has been anti-McCain for a while.

After Obama's acceptance speech Fox almost immediately finds fault, CNN talks about how great it was, more or less. After Palin's acceptance speech, Fox is in love and CNN quickly starts picking it apart / marginalizing it.

Also, just turning from CNN to Fox on a day to day basis (my wife has been doing this a lot lately) you'd think they are living in alternate realities. CNN is pretty hard on Republicans and they take it pretty easy on the Democrats, while we all know that Fox is doing the opposite.

I think a reasonable person would notice that neither are giving it to us straight.

These are your impressions and I'm interested, of course. But I was looking for some example of the left-wing bias that was alleged. Something akin to the CBS/Dan Rather counterfeit letter story--you know, smoking gun bias.

LOL, I'm just talking about the small everyday things that CNN does that shows them to be left-leaning; at least they've seemed obvious during this election. Before that, I was not a regular watcher of CNN or FOX. I prefer CNN to FOX, currently. Probably because I'm an Obama lean. But I don't pretend that they aren't fudging the truth a little.
