Never thought about it much before Mollie, but any woman that runs outside should carry pepper spray. Or anywhere they travel, really. As a man, i don't think i'm at a real risk for anything like that. I use to run with Cane when he was younger. Of course, you'd have to be crazy to mess with a man running with his 95lb dog. I was always careful though, many people don't know it but a human can run a dog to death. They'll kill themselves trying to keep up with you. 4-5 miles was the most i'd run with him in his prime.
My daughter often runs with our dog who is over 100lbs.....and the only reason I know that is she sets off the seat belt alarm in my Denali and it's set for 100 lbs, lol. Last vet visit, she was 110. If I raise my gun, I will shoot.
