Interesting. I run and the smallest gun i have is a Sig P238. Great little compact but i wouldn't run with it. Strapped would still be a little annoying i think. Pepper spray is interesting. I think that would be incredibly light and easy to strap on you. Now how about a Pepper Spray dispenser that looks like a compact gun that you have strapped. So it's a visual deterrent and has the spray....?
I went through pepper spray training as soon as I was old enough and still carry it. I live in CA....with kids...I'm not carrying my gun outside my home. Pepper spray is effective along with self-defense of a certain kind. Pretty much. I wouldn't run with a gun. And the truth is, when women buy guns for self-defense, it often does get used against them especially when in close quarters with a stronger male. If you have that gun, you have to be prepared to use it. There already is one of what you mention....
