oh, he can get them the ball without a doubt, hoss. he's only throwing the ball up 10 or 12 times a game with at least 2-3 drops a game, so it's more an issue of the coaching staff handicapping him. an all-word QB is not necessarily vital for success. i'm not saying that jefferson is a great QB -- he isn't. i'm not saying that he is an awful QB -- he isn't. he's good enough to get the ball to the playmakers so that they can do their thing.
Did you bother to see how many times LSU is throwing? It isn't as though JJ averages 97 yds/game over his career. He's had 200+ yd games...when needed. You go ahead and look at one game. Just remember, LSU won that game by 3+TDs...and punted once...and not until the 4th quarter. - LSU does what it needs to win. You guys wanna say "well take away those 4 long plays, and WVU defense is stout". Well, take away 2 long plays from the LSU D in the UNC game, and LSU's defense is #1 in the country. You can't take away the big plays. The difference is, LSU gave 'em up in game one, and hasn't given 'em up since. I'm looking forward to Geno having to choose between getting hammered or throwing the ball up for grabs. UNC and Vandy's QBs chose to take the beating, while MSUs chose to chunk it up for grabs. Didn't work out for any of them. And MSUs QB Relf? He got a taste of both...and didn't get to finish the game. I saw him on the sidelines, and they held up two fingers and said "How many fingers am I holding up"? He said "Wednesday".
