I'll agree that alot of it has to do with pressure up front, or the lack thereof, but our corners are not playing the same and we lack Jack Hunt to be the secondary coach like he was last year. Fred Gibson just lulled Corey to sleep on his TD catch. He acted like he wasn't even involved in the play and Corey lightened up and Gibson then accelerated quickly right past Webster. Webster got owned on that play. Travis Daniels on the other hand was pretty miserable yesterday. He was back on his heels and you just can't do that as a corner. He needs to stay up on his toes and he needs to turn and locate the ball, instead of just throwing his hands up at the last minute. Laron Landry and Jessie Daniels always seem to be a little late in help coverage over the middle although yesterday most of the time we were burnt on single coverage to the outside. It was an ugly game on the defensive side of the ball for the Tigers and our secondary looked weak yesterday. We have the talent, we don't have the leadership, chemistry or the desire YET. I hope we find those things for Florida because Chris Leak can pick a defense apart and Ciatrick Fason is no easy back to take down either.

In 1977 LSU beat Rice 77-0. Carlos Carson caught 5 touchdown bombs for over 200 yards. And the Rice coaches played him in single coverage the whole game. It was unbelievable foolish of them. After Carson's second bomb TD he should have been doubled on every pass play.

Yesterday I was beginning to think the same thing about Fred Gibson, who was just killing our corners. If there is no pressure being placed on the quarterback, you just can't leave Gibson in single coverage.
