That has all to do with the attrition rate after this season. We lose our 2 best wideouts as seniors, we already have the 2 horses at RB to take over the next 3 seasons. We will need a backup and insurance policy to RP. Thus, the recruiting is as such.

Certainly has nothing to do with what Miles has in mind as an offensive philosophy.

Last year, we signed a few top WRs as well, and Miles' first big time recruit was Perrilloux. Plus, of the 3 runningbacks we brought in last year, only one is a true power runner.

Whether you believe it or not, Miles wants to pass the ball.

Miles wants to do whatever it takes to win ball games. This year our running game is weak so passing the ball gives us a better chance to get the W. If we had a better running game you can bet your life savings Miles would want to run the ball more as would any football fan with a brain. Balance is great but you rely heavily on what gets the job done and this year it's passing.

    I sure hope so.

That's what I thought we were getting when we got Miles. I was excited from that standpoint and worried about the defensive side of things. Well, lo and behold, our only concerns are on the offensive side of the ball. Kinda funny.

I just wish he woulda picked his own OC and gotten rid of Fisher. I never understood that.

Or Miles assumes the play calling and we enter into the dark ages of Big 10 football like the times when Nebraska would get 60 snaps, 56 of which were runs.

Agreed. I don't have a problem with the type of offense we have, it's the conservative, predictable play-calling. We've shown how explosive we can be, but Fisher/Miles waits until we're down late to use it.

Recap: Miles was a successful and high scoring offensive coordinator at OSU for 3 years - followed by several successful and high scoring seasons as a HC who (according to LSU and OSU discontents) overruled his OC on offense. I say we pick one...Jimbo or Miles...and let them go. If they fight over the offense it's only going to hurt continuity. Let Jimbo call 100% or let Miles call 100% - either woudl be better than infighting.
