in this Sheehan affair I'd tell him he could kill several birds with just a few stones.

First of all, it's important that he meet with her. No matter how whacky Mrs. Sheehan may or may not be, King George is looking like a coward hiding within his castle.

It's unfortunate that while defending his decision to have fun bicycling he would say something as amazingly asinine as "I must go on with my life" while Casey Sheehan's mother is outside his gate protesting that her son has no life to go on with.

So, in order to repair the damage of his many stupid gaffes, he should invite her in for a chat with "Bring 'em on", and then when the chat is over pronounce "Mission accomplished" and "now I can go on with my life."

In that way people might forget that those stupid quotes were in any way attached to his dishonest and stupid war, and might associate them instead to a decent gesture of meeting with a concerned citizen.

I'd like to meet President Bush too. Perhaps I should protest and make ridiculous assertions.

I agree, it seems that President Bush is required to meet with everyone who demands it. Someone in the other thread mentioned what if FDR or Truman was required to meet with every family member of people who died in WWII. What about the Korean War? 23,615 servicemen died from action over in Korea with 4,820 missing in action. Should Truman have met with all 28,435 servicemen that were either killed or missing in action?

It is a sad thing when a mother loses a child, however, Cindy Sheehan's son signed up for the Army and he knew the risks. Cindy Sheehan should be allowed to do whatever she wants and she can demand to meet with the President until she's blue in the face but just because she demands something doesn't mean it is going to happen.

edit: Casey Sheehan apparently didn't believe that the war was the wrong thing for him to be involved in. According to CNN after the war started he reenlisted and volunteered to be sent back over to Iraq. Soldier known for life of quiet service

Wrong. The only people that think he looks like a coward are the people who already held that opinion (example: you) regardless of this situation.

And thank god we don't have you advising President Bush.

Excellent observation. Bush is smart enough not to fall into that trap. If I was advising the b*tch, I'd tell her to set herself on fire. The media loves that sh*t.
