I'm friends with one of the, shall we say "financially secure" people in that county. He had either two or three cases of beer in the back of his suv and got stopped for a traffic violation. Hence, busted.....He says he looked into fighting it and found out that he wouldn't stand a chance the way the law reads.
thanks Kteam.....I still say it sucks. If I had beer in my possession, it would never enter my mind that I might be about to enter a dry county. And I am not about to stop at the county line and ask questions, then drive AROUND said county. If there are any counties up around Oxford that are dry, the law enforcement guys could make a killing. :hihi:
Beer. We're talking about beer. Not like it's WMD's or abducted kids. Freaking beer. The US should strongly consider kicking out counties that have these laws. Put a big ole fence around them and let them die off.
the law sucks, thankfully we don't have it here. Combine that with all the city ordinances.... and man it's a night mare. WHY???? simple Revenue. it's a way to excise a TAX on unsuspecting traveller's unfamilar with local laws. Pretty smart actually. easy way to pick up some extra funds for that new Holster or police dog. It's not very profitable busting real hardned criminals all the time. These local counties use these kinds of absurd laws to create some cash flow.
I would live in Alaska in the summer and in Colordo in the winter. SabanFan, Whats up with the quote?
OK. It's what's referred to as sarcasm. Let me explain. In the post about Tack being suspended for academic violations, you chimed in with the quoted line. Your misguided opinion was that Tack's academic failures are somehow Brady's fault when, in reality, they are Tack's fault and no one elses. When I quoted your inane remark in the context of Col Reb's complaints about Mississippi drinking statutes, I was pointing out how irrelevant the statement was to the topic at hand? See?
Brady did recruit him and I thought that his players were his responsibility even though he can't be with him 24/7. He had question marks before he ever got to LSU. I wish Tack the best but I think John Brady can recruit a better person than some of his past recruits. No problem and peace!
So if I lived in a hell-hole like this, I would have to have a permit to make f'in spaghetti sauce? Un-f'in believable! The number of alcoholic beverages I keep on hand just to cook with would cause the uptight a-holes that keep laws like this in existance to have a stroke!
