In no way should coach miles pull his scholly. This kid could be an excellent back and a once in a decade type of player. You need to keep recruiting this kid until he decides. Seeing what we did with Jai Eugene I have no doubt that this will be done. If we don't get him it won't be for lack of effort.
I will forgive but i dont know about forget. I didnt agree with the way that Ryan P. handled coming to LSU . I am glad he is a Tiger but you like to see people do things the right way. This could have been a happy proud day for his family and all his friends and he will never be able to get that back. It is gone. With all the drama and indecision he lost that opportunity . It is an opportunity lost for the goodwill that comes from it too. Now if he comes it is just another signing.
Oofffff.. Jeez, two comments He is a kid, all these kids are kids. We seem to forget that sometimes, think back when you were 18... Plus if someone of you are correct we need to tell Jai to go away, and RP and all the others. Look it happens, plus we get so hyped on stars and who is ranked where. Let me ask you, where was Josh Reed rated coming out of High School ??? exactly. Thing is some of this high rated kids will flame out and other no names will shine. Its all a guessing game. I hope this kid comes to LSU if he doenst good luck to him and well wishes. He is JUST A KID. Cut the kid some slack. I went to school where my friends went as well. Its what 18 year old kids do.. He is a game breaker but LSU wont live or die by him. Just like when Robert Lane pulled his stunt, look at him now think he wants a do over ??? Frankly 10-1 RP wants a do over as well, if people think he is not going "Hmm I should have gone to Texas I would have started next year" your kidding yourself. Its all about playing time and experiences.
This is the first day a kid can sign, it ain't the final day. if a guy needs more time to make a career decision, then he ought to take it. Pulling his offer just because he wants another day or two is the dumbest damn idea I've heard today. Just give him up to USC, eh? Give me a break.
I cant help but feel that the original poster is the misguided one here. This is one of the most important decisions this kid has made. There is no rule or requirement that says he has to decide today. Just because he committed doesnt mean he cannot change his mind. He has to do what he feels is right for him and his family. And if that ends up upsetting LSU fans, then frankly, screw them. Its not their life.
Thats funny !!! I thought he decided last week with all the hoopla. Guess that was someone else at that press conference. Maybe i am just pissed at myself for caring so much whether a kid being offered a free ride lives up to his word. In the grand scheme of things whether we get him or not LSU will still have a great class and congrats to the Coach's and everyone who worked so hard on that happenning.
I understand what you're trying to say, and I hate the way these guys often lead people along. However, I have to agree with the other posters about this being a huge decision in this young man's life. If he feels he made a mistake by commiting to LSU (hoopla or not), then by all means he should be allowed to change his mind. He hasn't signed anything. As far as having the big press conference and party about commiting to LSU, what is the divorce rate in this country? Hovering around 60%. Now, I don't know, nor do I want to know, the marriage status of the posters here, but I'd be willing to bet that not all of them are on their first marriage. The point is, often times we commit to something (sometimes there's a big party celebrating that commitment) and the conditions or circumstances later change. You wouldn't want to be stuck in an unhappy marriage. (this marriage analogy may not be the best or most appropriate one, but it's late and this is the best I could come up with. High divorce rates and broken commitments are probably more a product of our fast food american culture than anything else. We want satisfaction now, and if we see a way to get more satisfaction then we do what is necessary to get it, even if it means braking commitments/vows.) Keiland has to do what's best for Keiland. I for one think he's doing a good thing by not making this decision today if he's having trouble. I think it shows maturity, not immaturity. I really hope he comes to Baton Rouge, but if not, oh well. We have 2 other good backs in this class, as well as 2 from last class. If our o-line does its job we'll be fine.
Something i think even Keiland would admit out of all of this is that the way it turned out some of the joy of sending in your choice got lost in the indecision. Not just for him but the entire fan base of whatever school he ends up choosing. If it is indeed LSU some of the luster has been lost and looking back i am sure he will have some regrets in the way it went down. Instead of celebrating his choice and enjoying the relief he spent the day in turmoil over where to go. I am over it and wish him the best wherever he goes and LSU has a great class regardless.
