It's what really needs to happen though. As long as they exist they will continue to muddy the waters. The conf championship game was great for us (SEC) in the BCS era. Vaulted many an SEC team into the BCSNCG. So powerful it was that Pete Caroll moved USC's last game to be played on the same weekends as other conferences had their championship game so USC would still be in the news, sorta. Eventually, the PAC reluctantly implemented a conf championship game not to be "left out." It's run it's course now and needs to go.
I think championship games are great, and so do the folks who make money off em. Those two reasons alone are reason enough to keep em.
I figured I didn't have to type the word currently. Not joking at all. I take it you haven't watched USC since they found a QB. They've been the scariest team for a month. If Bama didn't exist.
Two is often not enough. In some cases four isn't enough. Eight is usually too much, but it is a round number that should guarantee sufficient inclusion. Unfortunately greedy mfs run the show. The fact that I'm floating playoff ideas shows that the idiots running the show are dirty/incompetent.
I agree about USC. And if you could separate the team after the interim took over, they are undefeated. But you can't and so no chance to even be considered. USC vs Bama would have been epic.
Not speaking for tirk....I think it's all in reference to who looks good RIGHT NOW. What teams would provide the best games, best match ups. USC has 3 losses....but none in October or November and one of them was to the #1 team in the country. We have beaten both teams who were in the Pac12CCG and badly, including Washington on the road. We still have 3 losses so it is what it is but outside of Bama, I think we could give anyone a good game right now.
