Michigan beat the dog shyt outta Ped St. should they be in? i love watching football. especially college football where a loss in September is every bit as important as a loss in November. Playoffs aren't supposed to be all inclusive. if you want to get in, don't lose more games than the rest of the field. as a college football fan, the last thing i want after seeing a big game is th think "oh well that don't matter they both in anyway" if you want all inclusive, go watch 1AA where they let everybody in.
fewer total losses more top 10 wins larger avg margin of victory no losses outside of top 10 Michigan has same resume as Ped St. and beat both teams that played last night plus Colorado. should they be in too? having two losses when no one else in the running does bumps you down.
If you're not in the top 6 or 8 then you don't deserve to be in the playoff. You obviously haven't done your job during the season to warrent being there.
Too many people want the conference championships to matter to toss them out the window. I'm ok with four, but when the rankings are as flawed as they are, leaving power 5 conferences out is problematic. What is Michigan/Ohio St/Penn St/Wisconsin aren't as good as they've looked against each other? The sample size is too small and all things aren't constant throughout the season. You're trying to hit a bullseye with a shotgun.
10 Criminoles @ 01 Sister Fuckers 09 Condoms @ 02 Dabo Sweeney Todds 07 Chokelahoma @ 03 Black-Eyed Peas 05 Pedo St @ 04 Twin Peaks Huskies Top 2 teams because they're the most deserving. Top 15 champions to give the nonBCS a shot and place value on conference championships. Top 10 at large, every conference represented, because of the incestuous nature of rankings, best of the rest because you want to sell tickets.
Conference Championships and head to head results are supposed to matter College Playoff Selection Committee protocol,.. http://d30ratpzqzalg7.cloudfront.net/CD-drupal-cfp-PROD/s3fs-public/CFP Selection Committee Protocol.pdf?tV3FOZ68If3qops3X7XJQFmkEd00PiAY "Strength of schedule, head-to-head competition and championships won must be specifically applied as tie-breakers between teams that look similar"
I say screw all this crap. Every other sport in the NCAA including football, except division I,has a playoff system and names an NCAA Champion, yet there is no NCAA champion in Division 1 football. WTF is that all about. I believe that the conference champions, and only the conference champions should be ranked at the end of the season, bracketed and playoff for the National Championship.
If it were 3 or 4 losses I'd say Ohio State. But I'm tired of seeing conference championships mean nothing.
