The moving of the threads had to do more with cluttering and overtaking the LSU stuff.

Like I said in the other thread, the Den needs to be just for LSU news that way if someone has a few minutes at work to look over the site they dont wont to wade through all the other post.

So without another free forum to move those threads to they were moved to the only place they could be.

It wasnt to keep people from posting it was just a lack of options.

And this sight has grown by leaps and bounds in the past 3 years and that is evident when the servers were being overloaded until Brett moved us to bigger servers that could handle the traffic, and with that comes more people posting so the site is having to grow with it.

The problem is it is easier to sign up an account then change the whole site.

I dont forsee an drastic changes just things that are gonna make the place alittle more user friendly!

1 extra forum in the free section for all relevant College football topics other than LSU takes less time to build then it does to register an account, unless the "validate emails" option is turned off.

you're knowledgeable because you run little forums somewhere on dah interneht, we get it

Crip was not talking about adding a single forum. He's talking about changes to the site as a whole. duh

Unless I'm missing something, no one is saying there should be vast overhauling of the website. All that was suggested, originally, was to have an SEC forum in the free section.

Man, so many people getting defensive.

his suggestions havent been condescending and hes just offering his point of view. maybe a bit over the top but suggestions nonetheless.

which is what this thread is about. that you started by the way.

and this is a little forum too compared to many.

but changes are not overly hard to do here, regardless the scope.

Well if you call forums with 50,000 members with 1,200+ members logged at any given moment in the day "little" then so be it. Not my point though...

... I doubt anyone is saying revamp TF entirely in an hour to calm the masses. But several have been outspoken about one (1) additional forum being made to discuss the rest of college football. Not a big deal i'd think.

If sincere feedback is sought, I'll throw my .02 but if it is people have to be willing to truly "look in the mirror" otherwise this discussion is moot.

Ironically I can read through this thread and it's clear what happens in here. Serious initial post followed by (in no certain order) visitors who aren't welcomed or encouraged to give honest opnions. Some posters can fun with each other while, with others, the thread is called back on point.

Funniest thing to me is that one reason I stepped down as a mod was cause there were complaints about me moving too many threads but now moving threads is being defended. Honestly neither here nor there to me now but just as an example of consistency being decided in terms of popularity- which is how it's actually done in "real life" anyway.

What about Pic 'em's, TEAM KATT threads with pics that everyone enjoyed? Seems like a need to decide if TF is a football/sports forum, a social club, both, whatever.

If more traffic is desired, some attitudes will have to change. Way to be an ambassador. :dis:

Oh, I noticed you added "TK" to your user. I thought it was impossible to change/alter those?

Not directed towards you but in general would you say, "Don't forsee" or "don't want"? Sounds like some want to have more traffic while maintaining same insulation. One does not make for the other.

I've seen MANY quality posters run out of here. Terry, for example. He told us in November that Saban was going to be the coach at Bama and naturally most didn't believe him but a guy with that kind of insight and he routinely gets pounced on- though seldom out-debated I will say. Some buckeye posters, HectorSpectre, a USC poster and awesome guy. He and I are planning to meet in Hawaii next summer when my family goes on vacation- that’s what these forums can lead to, as we’ve seen here on TF more than once but open your minds people. As deep as it sounds, we’re all Americans at the end of the day.

Claire, an LSU poster with great inside info got blasted way too much over nothing. Also, RE may have made mistakes in the past but returned with what seemed sincere attempts to "discuss football". But it didn't take long for the pile on. FWIW, I met him and his fiance for the Bama game and he's a guy I believe most would hang with if they were to meet him- he's a good guy, people make mistakes, get over it.

All the while vile ones, BitterD comes to mind, who were allowed to stay for a long time.

I was telling someone today that we fail to realize all fans love their team like we do LSU and when they visit other forums it's hard to submerge it. It's not that hard to tell if someone is posting out of pride or merely flaming. Mixing it up a little is fun, I think they should get the benefit of the doubt in those regards.

I appreciate the MANY of you who went as far as to register on other forums to keep in touch and encouraged me to come back. I hope we stay in touch and I plan to read here still and maybe post now and then. I often opened my email and had a notice that “my box was full” and so-and-so tried to pm me. I couldn’t respond cause I was banned, just so you’ll know I would have.

Maui, I tried to pm you but your box is full. If you read this, clean the dam thing out, I'd love to meet you too when we go Hawaii.

Cajunlost, don't forget to call me when you come to Lake Charles, I'm going to try to make a run even if it's only for 15 minutes. I can go see the in-laws and kill two birds with one stone. lol.

RE, I don't have unlimited texting, stop sendingcrap Auburn ones- it costs me .20 cents to read about Tubbs.

It's a 2 second process in the AdminCP, just go to the users account and change the name to whatever you want it to be and then click on "save" at the bottom... wam boom it's done.
