... to watch the Orlando Apollos first game. On the upper right corner of the press box is UCF’s New Years Day wins. 2014 & 2018. It’s a shame they couldn’t add 2019! Geaux Tigers!
How was it. I forgot all about it. I'm sorta down with shitting on the NFL atm. I'd have watched for Spurrier anyhow.
It was a lot of fun. Orlando stomped Atlanta 40-6 with a lot of pass plays, a trick play, and a pick six. The game moved fast. There was hardly any time between offensive series for commercials. It was also well officiated with no dumb or missed calls from the refs. I’m looking forward to going to the next home game, when Memphis & the LSU players come to town.
What's downright embarrassing for them is the 2017 natty claim. Everyone knew they boasted about it, but I didn't know they actually added it to their stadium's Wall of Shame.
The announced attendance was 20,191. But I think because of the late start (8:45 pm) and the weather (light drizzle most of the game), the actual attendance was probably 15,000 with half leaving after the first half. Despite the low numbers, it was a lot of fun. The crowd was into the game. It would get loud on defense, but nothing compared to an SEC game. The other game in San Antonio was in a dome and had over 27,000.
