No, it wasn't. It was closed because it was degenerating into an off-topic argument and would have led to the whole thread being deleted, which it was not. This one is not looking good . . .
See, there you go again. By the way, I knew the "us" would get you. :hihi: I mean, it's always "us" against "them"...right? You preached on in your post as if I didn't know that obama couldn't win the white house with just the black vote. You figured that I would find it surprising that many, many whities voted for the guy. I guess I should have just said "Duh" and left it at that. For now on, when speaking with you, I will use small words and be very specific about my meaning. It pains me to see you so confused so often. As far as clinton goes...you didn't hear? He was the first "black" president.
You think I'm different in person? Whatever. If anything I tone down my opinions on here...out of respect for our diverse group of members. Trust me, I would tell you how I feel in person.
I wonder why. When it comes to large groups of people, blacks will vote higher than any other group when it comes to identity and party affiliation, which will easily be in favor of Obama. But those percentages don't tell the whole story since the election is obviously not determined by the popular vote. His speeches will change state by state, and they will not be directed just towards blacks.
Mastermind, do you support erasing that word from the English language? Why is it so insulting that you can't get past it?
It didn't become the "n" word until the O.J. trial. I remember because the defense team had no problem using profanity in the courtroom, but not the dreaded "n" word
Well it is a hateful word, and it's a pity that segments of the black population have adopted it for their own purposes, because it has prolonged the misery of the word. How different might things be if blacks used "dude" instead? Would the "n word" be forgotten? There are a couple of awful words that you just can't call women either. They will never forgive or forget it. Just better to leave it out of your personal dictionary, imo.
Don't get mad at me, get mad at Chris Rock. He's the one that said it, I just quoted him. It's just a freaking word, and not one that was directed at you or anyone else. You are being entirely too oversensitive and are disingenuously making yourself out to be a victim. I am not sorry about it, and I will not apologize. Good day.
Ok first off Free Speech Alley is NOT a Public Forum. We all PAY for the privilage to be able to post here. Being such as along as the content stays within the User Agreement, and stays on topic with the thread title and is not a PERSONAL ATTACK on another poster there is no other reason someone should be offended by the content. And even if someone was offended, I am not aware of anywhere we have the right to "NOT BE OFFENDED". If you find yourself in a situation that is offending then you need to remove yourself. Just an example I am offended by the global warming talk, because I think it is simply scare tactics, so do that mean I get to report or close any threads that have talk of global warming? Who determines how much offensiveness can be allowed, or we gonna ask every single person what offends them and then get rid of it? I am offended by some rap music, so I am gonna lead a protest and donate enough money to have the governement outlaw rap music! Hitler was offended by the Jews and that didnt work out so well!
