I think Saban will take the Chicago position.

To be honest with you I don't think Nick would take any other
job in the NFL right now except for the Bears because he is
friends with whoever it is in the organization.

    But

I have a sick feeling in my gut with some of the stories going on
and its not going away into I see Nick sign on the dotted line.

    There's one other thing........
The week of the Sugar Nick made a comment that everyone heard. This probably isn't the right time to say this but pro ball
is about ball, or something like that.

He also said after the game, something about how to follow up
    next year.

I think Nick would 100% come back next year and I don't think
he would consider going to the NFL anywhere right now except
the Bears because of his ties there.

Nick is a smart man and there really is no way to follow up after
    winning a national Championship.

If a bunch of players leave he might too.

I don't want him to leave but sooner or later it might happen so
we have to be prepared for plan B in case it does happen.

I can't think of anyone more proven than Spurrier right now
whether everyone here likes it or not.

    Its reality

LSU would really be screwed if Nick left right now. Most of those super recruits we have been drooling over don't have their names on the dotted line yet. If Nick were gone they would all be headed to Miami, Oklahoma, Florida State and all points in between.

We have all heard the interviews and the statements that Saban has made. Last Friday he mentioned numerous times about how happy he was. He said that maybe he didn't smile enough for people and that he would work on that. He followed by saying how much he values integrity and commitment. All weekend long he mentioned that it was not about the money and even told a story about working for his dad for $2.00 an hour and being offered a job for $10. Saban said that one of the greatest things that he received out of this event was the gratification that it brought to people all across the state. Now, we are not all so naive as to believe every coach at his word. We have all seen the coaches of the past say such grand things to the media while signing that new contract elsewhere with the other hand behind the podium. I believe that Saban is here to stay.

I hear the comments about the Superbowl and Saban being driven to achieve on the next level. There is no way that Saban will be able to achieve on the next level what he is poised and positioned to achieve on this level. He has shown a recruiting ability like we have never seen at LSU. He is in a state where football talent almost grows on trees (Louisiana is ranked 4th in the country for states that are represented in the NFL). He is in a town where he is a part of every family that has anything that is purple and gold. He is ready to win and win again. He has the potential to achieve the status of Spurrier and dare I say the Bear? If he continues the way he has started his status will be legendary in College Football. That, quite frankly, is highly unlikely in the NFL. Why would you want to deal with NFL players, NFL fans, and the intense business that is the NFL? Moreover why would you leave where he is now to do that? Only he knows.

I hope with all heart that he stays with his new family in Purple & Gold. Most of all, I hope that whatever he decides, he is ultimately happy. After all, he sure brought me a heck of a lot of happiness.

    Good luck Nick!!

Worry about the things that you can change, let God handle the ones you have no control over. TODAY Nick Saban is Coach of the 2003 National Champion LSU fightin' Tigers. Be happy, Don't worry.

James Cpt.5 vrs. 16... The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Finally, someone who is thinking clearly!

And when Early Doucet announces tomorrow around noon that he coming to LSU, will you guys STILL think Saban is leaving?

Yeah that makes sense.....Doucet is announcing EARLY i might add (no pun intended), you think he would be doing this knowing Nick Saban may not be there. Nick Saban has already assured Early Doucet and Luke Sanders that he is STAYING.

I do not see Nick leaving for the NFL at this point. Maybe someday he will step down a notch and test the NFL waters, but it will not be any time soon. What Nick Saban is building in Baton Rouge does not exist anylonger in the NFL. There are no more dynasties that dominate for an entire decade. There is no loyalty from athletes, organizations, or coaches (the reason I am no longer a fan of any NFL "team".). I read in a post on this forum that Nick Saban was a professional coach. Wrong, he's a college coach. He is building a super power at LSU and he will remain there to reside over it.

Listen to what the man says. He's tellin ya what he's tellin ya.
I don't believe that there's an ounce of bullsh!t in the man.;)

That source you have linked totally missed the boat on Mora in Atlanta.
