Sheps problem is he hasn't made a transition from QB to a receiver. Being a receiver is an unnatural act when being a QB. Catching the ball with people hitting you is different than receiving it from a center. He will learn and we will benefit from it.

No, you refuse to acknowledge any improvement on the O. You are so hung up on those stats you have failed to see key areas that have marked improvement.

I would love to see where us delusional fans have said this O is perfect, we haven't. Though we do see promise in key areas and there is hope.

You come off/respond to post by flat out saying the O sucks. How is thAt conversation? Really? Everything about the O sucks?

When Comparing our offense to that of the High Powered Explosive Offenses around the nation, yes you are absolutely right.

We do not light up the score board, air it out, try to score in 3 plays or under a minute. We dont really run an explosive scheme. Hell, we dont really have a scheme, we are still trying to figure out what works best for us. AND Yes, I get frustrated.

But I agree with the other post, especially the OP and the 1st response. I see the improvements we are making!

Our football team is focused around our defense, special teams, and ability to control field position, T.O.P, keeping the other offense off the field as much as possible. - I am not saying we are doing a fantastic job at this, but I do see great improvements

Now then....when we do send our defense back out, we try to put them in a position to make a big play or make a big stand (giving bad field position to the opposing offense, leaving little time on the clock, etc.) things to help us get the football back with decent field position to go back out & try again.

All that matters to CLM when the clock strikes 0:00 is that we have more points on the board than our opponent.

I'll agree getting points with our offense, well lets just say its not something any of us are truly confident in, but when you re-watch the game or look at the highlights, we truly are getting better.

I cant say that if we were to move into a shoot out style offense we would put up the points & stats that offensive minded fans drool over, but we would be putting up much bigger numbers than we are now.

Simple fact is, when you have the lead late in the game, you run the ball, run down the clock, and get out of there with the W. - We just seem to run that style with or without the lead.

A lot of fans get excited over these high powered offensive shoot outs, I'll agree, they are fun to watch. But watching this years defense has truly been A LOT OF FUN!

I will agree, being down six with 2 minutes on the clock, I wish our offense was better.....BUT MAN I LOVE THIS THE D!!!!!

I'd be surprised if LSU wasn't making red zone offense a focal point of practice this week. The offense has shown it can sustain long drives, but once they get inside the 20 and that field is compressed, the temptation is to keep trying the option and those sweeps and end-arounds, which usually promptly run into a wall. With the kind of starting field position LSU has been getting we should be hanging 40 on teams to this point. If that can be fixed to any degree we'll see an even more improved product on the field.

I also can live with this offense if our D continues to play the way they have been. The offense just needs to do them a favor and get some first downs. Punting isn't a bad thing, 3 and out is a bad thing.

I'm just afraid a team like Florida is going to no huddle the whole game, keeping us from rotating our linemen, and wear our guys out. That is why we have to sustain drives on offense. Get 3 if you have to at the end of them, but move the chains at least twice a drive.

    You are absolutey right

AND what it has boiled down to, is mistakes.

Take away the fumbles against UNC - LSU scores 40 easily

Vandy, JJ had the worst night of his career, take away just one pass the int. in the endzone - LSU scores at least 34

Take away two dropped passes against Moo-U & Blues fumble at the end and - LSU scores well over 40

So as good as we have been on defense and special teams, its the little things that have kept this team from being talked about much more. Those dropped passes, int. and fumbles have killed our ppg average and killed the amount of noise we could be making around the nation right now
