After watching the first half of the National Championship game I couldn't understand why Miles didn't at least try to see if Lee could turn things around and get some spark to the offense. Hell, I would have tried Lee and if he wasn't getting it done then I would have gone to Mettenberger. What did they have to lose?
CLM was way in over his head that night we could have had Clark Kent 5* from Smallville HS playing QB and still stuck behind the 49 YDL
The JJ period (and a couple others, honestly) were painful to watch and I’d just as soon delete them from memory. Not especially because of our players, but the offensive (multiple definitions) philosophy. We probably would’ve had at least 1 more NC if we would’ve had someone anywhere near Joe Brady running running our offenses during the CLM tenure. Hell, who would’ve known we had such a dynamic tandem like OBJ and Jarvis Landry under our belts until they hit the pros.
Wouldn't have matter, Les would not have let him run his offense. How many OC's did we have when Les was the coach and it seemed like the offense never changed?
No question. That was the premise, but I didn't make it clear. Obviously, it would not matter who was OC as long as CLM insisted on running his offense. My feelings are we had like talent to Bama almost every year. We should have won at least some of these games during the streak. I just remember Bama rotating players in the NC game, depending on who we had in the huddle...knowing exactly was going to be called. Sickening.
Yes people read and the fact that there is no source clearly indicates sarcasm. An old poster coming home to roost and did so with a splash. I think we might need to institute some sort of training. Relax, Jeff isn't going anywhere and that dude isn't going to coach QBs anywhere ever.
