Duh......ole miss today? LSU has more talent and should have won. Vegas knew Crowtons offense is a dud. Doesn't mean it should be a dud but it is. LSU should have beat the hell out of ole miss, but the staff was severely out coached.

And you are definitely entitled to your opinion just as much as I am. I generally respect it as one of the few voices of reason around this madhouse. I think I know more than the average casual fan about football though.

I wasn't referring to strictly this season. I was referring to his body of work in general. I'll give a free pass on the 'Bama and Florida games because they are just better than LSU this year period. Ole Miss wasn't. They were favored because LSU is playing worse than their talent level this season and it's a rivalry game. They are a good team, I grant, but not better than LSU. Not based on talent alone.

I'll read it. If he knows way more than me about football, I'm always willing to learn. :thumb:

I had to back away form the keyboard several times to be logical and rational, at least I thought so. If you'll notice, nowhere in my post did I call for Les to be fired. I didn't have a drop to drink before or during the game. I feel like I could knock back a few right now though. :thumb: I don't know your age, but I remember much worse times at LSU than these. I'm speaking to moving forward and progressing. I don't know if you've played more D1 football then me or not so I won't make that presumption as you did. I said nothing about recruiting other than I though coach Miles was pretty good. Did you even read the post before replying? Do you have any thought that speak to the points I made?

IMO, none this year. Last year's win over Auburn was a quality win over a worthy opponent- kinda. Va Tech, Florida, and 'Bama were impressive wins in the championship season of '07. In '06 there was the win over 'Bama. In '05 the wins over Florida, 'Bama, Auburn, and Georgia in the SEC Championship were great. Just my opinion of quality wins over good opponents. there may be some I've overlooked.

If you're not questioning the coaching ability and decision making, I must ask, why not? Is it because you are satisfied that our team is being coached as well as they should and you are happy with the coaching results?

I'll be the first to admit that after Coach Miles' very first game here (the last second 4th down Hail Mary win over Arizona State) I was a bit dubious about the hire. The next week after the loss at home to a mediocre Tennessee team I though perhaps the wrong decision had been made. Maybe I've never recovered from the initial bad impression I developed in seeing those 2 games that were poorly coached IMO, I don't know. I have however been a supporter of LSU and it's athletics since long before Les Miles ever coached a football game here or anywhere else.

To those who made rational points of discussion, thanks.

Mile's explanation will be very telling. If he takes responsibility and expresses how stupid is clock management was, he's deserves a pass and should overcome this....however, anything else should signal the beginning of his end...

Hey Nash don't worry, Miles will do everything he can to win the game against Arkie. He'll keep it close enough to have a chance to win. If he doesn't, then that is unacceptable. This is a lot bigger game for LSU than many fans would admit. Actually Ole Miss & LSU are similar in talent but LSU should have no trouble moving the ball against the hogs. If he doesn't have the team ready this weekend then he will deserve the criticism he will get. I do think LSU will have to score 30 to win. But they can do it with a prepared staff.:yelwink2:

because i honestly don't know where to begin. i don't know whose fault this debacle is. i know it's on the shoulder of the coaches but which ones? is it just miles or is it miles and crowton? or is it coach stud too? i just wouldn't know where to begin.

i saw early on (in the washington game) some things that were very, very odd to me. i spoke out against them and was lambasted. i kept quiet (relatively) over the course of the season. there are more problems now, and they're compounded! i haven't seen progress this season with the offense. i've seen this team regress from week to week. i'm not happy with the way the team has been playing, but i've kept my mouth shut. i just don't like the way this team plays, i don't like the way the plays are being called, i don't like the plays that are being called. i let it slide because les has won championships. i have even went as far as to say that even in 2007 LSU didn't look that great. they reminded me a lot of ohio state -- a big ten team that wins, but wins ugly. i like seeing teams that look like a well-oiled machine. LSU hasn't looked like that too much in coach miles' tenure. but he wins. but for how long?

is that enough for you?

As PO'ed as I still am about this loss, I'm somewhat with you. That said, I'm not sure he is capable of game day management. Maybe he should have an assistant(his guiding force) at his side. God knows for as much as we pay him his decisions should be more dialed in when the time comes.

I agree. Miles won't go anywhere, which I probably agree with, depending on the outcome of next week's game, and Crowton will be the scapegoat. I'm not sure if that is the answer but the change in defensive coordinators sure helped this year.:helmet:

Hey Texas Tiger this is for you. LSU has lost to vastly outmanned Arkie teams the last two seasons. These are the kind of losses that a lot of fans can't stand. If it happens again, which is possible, thats a legitimate concern for fans. Every now and then I'll give you one but to be beat 3 years in a row by a an inferior team shouldn't happen. Eventually it will affect a teams psyche and also will be used as a recruiting tool. I am not a CLM apologist but he is a top 10 CFB coach. Besides, the only SEC coach that LSU could get that they would want would be Spurrier or Nutt. :yelwink2:
