I am going to ante up. I was going to a few months ago, but got blown out by a few for saying I was a Russel fan. These dudes attacked me with curse words like crazy for making an simple statement. I left this board for a while until I was lurking one day after the OSU game and found sabanfan saying what I said before the 1st game. So, I had to come back and lash out at him and a few others that trashed me for saying the same thing.

Funny. I was just about to start this exact thread and i find that you have already done it. I agree that USC is a better team that we have given them credit for. You can debate all day wether or not they are the best team in the nation, but if they aren't who is? The truth is that nobody has really set themselves apart head over heels as the absolute best team in the nation (personaly i think it is AU, but that is just my opinion). i think USC wins out (although i agree that while ND will not beat them that they will at least put up a decent fight) and goes to the OB and gets beat by either OU or AU (i don't think Miami will finish it out).
USC would demolish Auburn. It's fun to rip on SC and their fancy boy image, but they are a dominant team. I think only Oklahoma could beat them. Last year, LSU, USC, and OU were head and shoulders above the rest. This year, it's OU and USC. That doesn't mean they won't lose...it usually happens to the best of teams, but they would trounce Auburn big time, as Dick Cheney would say.
Let me just also add that although I've ripped on us a few times this year about being worse than our ranking, I think the tables are flipped now. We are underrated at the position we sit now. This team has made great strides in cohesiveness, and sure are better than 20ish.
