So you claim that the "showing" vs Miami wasn't a direct result of having Will Arnold (better run blocking and pass protection) and Joseph Addai in the game? Come the **** on. I'm not making excuses; I'm answering the fact that you are pinning all of the blame on Miles for something that should be put on the players shoulders. Bitch out JV, Terrell McGill, and Craig Steltz all you want. CS didn't get over on at least 2 touchdown passes and was simply not there on the blitzes that were called. McGill and the whole offensive line basically packed it in. JV couldn't hit holes or run effectively.
You can rehash the UGA game all you want.... The fact still remains the same, We got a$$ raped. Blame the players if you'd like. I blamed everyone from the ball boy, players to the head coach. Just like I gave the same group of guys credit after the Miami game.... You win as a team and you lose as a team.
I believe in taking responsibility for losses, and I don't suggest we say that the loss didn't count, but I pretty much disagree with everything else you've said. Having a key injury doesn't change the fact that you don't man up and accept that you lost, but at the same time you can point to that injury as one of the factors of the loss. Even more so can you point to the fact that you played 11 games in a row, without a break; you can point out that playing so many games in a row will cause a team to be more tired than a team that hasn't.
A coach is responsible for whatever happens to his team - win or lose. Miles gets credit for winning 11 games & also gets credit for losing 2. Now, certain fans here like to pretend like our players are the reason we won, but our coaches are the reason we lost. Simply ridiculous thinking. Maybe now some of you see what I saw all season - reasoning behind the struggles. Not excuses, but simply an assesment that the coaching staff can & will deliver better under different circumstances.
I give Miles and Fisher alot of credit I didn't think they deserved during the season after watching the Peach Bowl. I still have questions that haven't been answered when it comes to Miles, but I feel alot more confident in Fisher. I still don't feel good about Russell's improvement over the course of the season, but I'm not sure where to place the blame. How much is Russell's fault, how much is Fisher's?
I agree. In fact I mentioned this in a previous post. Katrina had a lot to do with the losses we incurred this year.
As I stated before, unlike the Tennessee game, the Georgia game was lost on the field; not on the sideline. The team just did not play up to their capability. Coaching had little to do with it. Bad coaching was the cause of the Tennessee loss, but bad playing was the cause of the Georga loss. The coaches can only send in plays. They cannot run them for the team.
I would argue both losses were due to the players on the field not being capable. Our entire defense was out for stretches against Tennessee. That limited the style of defense we could have played. I have already mentioned the specific players I have in mind that contributed to the UGA loss.
