He is as ate up with it as the rest of them. He has gone past the event horizon (that means you ain't coming back tiga, black hole astronomy stuff)
Miles might leave for Michigan, but I doubt they pursue him now. Other than that, he'll be around a while. If last year is what Cam is capable of, maybe he is the answer to Les' 10 years of no passing BS. We might be taking our lumps now (I'm disappointed they aren't giving any playtime to Harris, but it seems Miles is in the school of thought that QB psyches are especially sensitive) and be significantly improved next year. Mettenberger looked pretty awful in 2012. Maybe next year is Jennings'/Harris' 2013. If 2015 looks like 2014, might that be the end of Miles? 2014+qb=likely playoff berth Pumpers unite!
I'm not a balls to the wall Miles guy like you make me out to be but I do think he's good enough to win another Title here. The funny thing is I never "defend" his coaching, per se, but you're so ate up with him you take things I say in general and prop them up to suit your mantra. Makes the place lively though, so I'm all good with it. Not to mention I was saying what you're saying WAY back when it wasn't popular so don't think I have some blinders on about him. With how things are, currently, I think we have a chance with him but to fire him and bring in someone new, that would cause a big disruption in recruiting, etc. Unless we'd bring in a Spurrier-type with a proven track record we don't know what we'd be getting. Look at UT when they canned Fulmer, and other places.
Dude no one knows what they are getting, ever! Success at one place doesn't translate to equal or greater success someplace else nor does it mean less. Miles wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire at Okie light. He beat BGB a couple times. Woop tee doo.
Yeah I know but it's just not as simple as firing him. I know you know that but I'm OCD so I view this a bit differently and see the whole process it would entail- so it overwhelms me. As a result I say play the percentages. I mean just 3 years ago he won 13 of 14 games. Sure the next 3 years have not been to our satisfaction but c'mon, we want to say the SEC West is THE toughest conference in all of CFB (and I believe it is) so what kind of expectation is that to win every game every year? We beat the team that played in the National Championship game two of those years (Bama and Auburn). Another year we beat A team in our conference who beat THE team from our conference who won it all. We're not talking about being far off the mark here.
