well, since you're so fond of rivals, here's Bama's recent classes according to them ($ to Deceks) : 2007- #10 2006- #11 2005- #18 2004- #15 Doesn't look to awful to me ...... Now, just how is Saban's recruiting so much better? Oh, I suppose it involves some of your pro-Bama speculation on how this season's class will end up, right? Sounds to me like the Bama Nation is starting to believe their own hype. You can whine to hell and back about having a weakened talent pool when it suits your agenda ...... but remember, the sword cuts both ways.
The number that both of you are missing is an important one! Shula 41-7 over ULM:thumb: Saban 14-21 loses to ULM Stop talking about the future and concentrate on the present and maybe Bama can salvage the season by beating Auburn. :bncry:
I've already answered your first question in regards to ranking with the numbers of 4 and 5 star players. It's about depth and player development. It's about techniques and learning new ones. Whine to hell? Please, that's a pot and kettle situation with the exception this kettle hasn't been steaming about a weakened talent point. Once again, you are skirting the issue with your statements just being false. Stay on the same sheet of music for a change. First it was how the classes have been consistantly better than Auburns. Then it was how the rankings are not that different. Gosh man, is it too much to ask to make sure what you post is correct, based on the facts of the matter, rather than throwing what ever you can at the wall and hoping something sticks?
That's a suprising stat, 10,11,18,15. With all the bama excuses about having no talent on the team I had no idea they had recruited so well in recent years. But even with all that talent you can't lay the blame for this crappy season entirely at sabans feet, you have to give him time for "the process" to take effect.
Don't feel too sorry for him. No one expected him to turn the Bama program around in his first year. Based on how effectively he has been recriting, look to see some improvement if not next year, certainly the year after. Bama fans need to have a lot more patience.
Me too! I read on another thread that CLM:milesmic: has not lost to an unranked team since he has been at LSU. As of last night I believe he is 19 - 0 against unranked teams. That is pretty amazing especially the way this season has been.
I'm officially betting AGAINST it! The media has been running their collective mouths about how 'Bama would automatically be better with Saban THIS season than it was under Shula; that Saban was such a superior coach than Shula and 'Bama would beat teams simply because of that.:rolleye33: Well....
Didn't Shula go 10-2 a couple of years ago? I wouldn't say the talent pool is less now than it was then. Bama has 2 very good WRs and Sarah Jessica Parker has been decent this season, just not lately. Bama played LSU tough, so the talent excuse is ridiculous. Do they have all the talent LSU has and the depth? No. Do they have more talent than UL Monroe? Most definitely. So Bama Kool Aid drinkers need to wake up and realize that you got beat by a much less talented UL Monroe team. Saban has lost games before that should've been easy or moderately easy wins, even when the LSU talent was at it's best. What was Shula's record last year?
6-6 in the regular season and then the bowl game loss to Oklahoma St. to finish 6-7. heading into the Iron Bowl last year, Shula's 'Bama team had the exact 6-5 record as Saban's '07 version of the Crimson Tide.
