I don't know why they throw to Addai so much.

Great. Now he just needs to catch the ball.

I agree that JA drops passes that are right in his hands, however he ran the ball very well against ASU. IMO, he doesn't look like much of a receiver. I watched the game again last night and X Carter impressed me with a few receptions. He could be the one to step up for us this year. Can you imagine the X-man sprinting all out down the field and Russell hitting him in stride. What a beautiful thought that is. So far these players seem impressive....Bowe, Carter, Addai, Russell, C. Davis, Doucet. That's not to say that the rest of the team doesn't look good, but these players surprised me with their early showings.

I agree. Xavier Carter looked impressive last week. Opening kickoff returned to midfield...3 receptions for 49 yards...

I really think this kid is going to be huge, not to mention just fun to watch.

Kinda unrelated, but how long is Shy Carey's suspension again? Is it four games?

I think JA has only dropped 2 passes so far this season and one was a bullet from Russell that I saw and he made an incredible catch on the one JR through behind him so that almost evens out.

Bottom line is, Joe Addai can get open in defensive secondaries. That's why they throw so much to Addai. He gets so open because of his strength and full speed cutting ability a la Josh Reed. This is also why he is a good running back. Right now, his hands aren't as good as Reed but he only started practicing at receiver this spring. However, with his move back to RB we won't be able to see if/when he would be able to develop into a receiver like Josh Reed.

But, to answer your question again, they throw to him because he gets open.

Agreed but he gets open because they have been sending him out on the receiving routes. And this comparing him to Reed is hilarious. You could tell Reed's receiving ability the first time he went out for a pass in a game. Please stop this ridiculous comparison.

He gets open but he can't catch the ball. He dropped four or five against Oregon State and he dropped one of the few passes they threw to him against Arkansas State.

As a RB, he is quick and has some power, but I have never seen him break one. I think he is a good RB but nothing more. I think he is too inconsistent to send him out on receiving routes. We can't afford those drops against Auburn. That is why I brought it up.

If he dropped 4 or 5 passes vs OSU I missed them some kind of way I guess.
