No, you need coaching especially an OC. Miles is not a coach, he is a general manager. Throwing QBs into the raging fire is not going to solve this problem. This will require a multi-year fix. If you had a real OC, then Lee would be the guy... he is the only QB on the roster.
I am with ya. We are 4-0 and I feel like we are 1-3 and or so. This offense/offensive scheme is just sucking the positive energy out of me. Jefferson 10/22 75 yards 0TDs 2 Ints just not right. Have we broken the 100 yards mark on passing since the NC game?
And the QB is not the OC. The QB has to do what the OC directs. Sorry, you guys keep on looking for the solution and you ain't going to find it by throwing QBs into raging fire. Les will throw Lee to the Lions in due time, when they are down 10-14 points to a good team. If you have a real OC, then Lee to me has the ability to be the 2nd best QB in the SEC, as is though... it's like pissing on a house fire in the delusional attempt to put it out. Cut the cord to Crowton, then you move on. This may cause short-term problems but that is life. Should have been done a long-time ago, this is not a quick fix. You could put Joe Montana in his prime in there and he would get burned alive.
This is the way I honestly see it. Think about when Crowton had a capable QB in the backfield. His playbook was amazing. I cannot accept the fact that Crowton scrapped that playbook for this current train wreck. If I was to put blame on Crowton, it'd be his inability to properly scout QB prospects and find one that actually fits his system. That actually might be just as bad as having a bad playbook though. . .
Crowton got ran out of BYU for doing this stuff. I don't know why people continue to think he is a genius. BYU fans were going nuts when LSU hired him. Simple put, this crap is not going to work in a decent league. http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/90644-crowton-2007-a.html Original blog post from January 2007. LSU Fans Will Suffer Because of Gary Crowton | Picklewagon This offense was completely destroyed in 2009. THERE IS NO QUICK FIX, this will take multi-years to fix.... cut the cord or the beating will continue for the offense.
I'm not saying the guy is a football god. I'm just saying that this doesn't at all look like his playbook we're running right now. His playbook worked when we had a QB. TBH, it's hard to see where to put the blame since our QB position has been is distress since 2008. We lose our 1st and 2nd string QB. That's going to mess up any team, especially when the 2nd string was going to be our starter until this year.
Sorry the offense is not in the position it is in because of the QB, I recognize the problem by the 5th game of 2008 when LSU was winning and winning with huge yardage and points. That was not his playbook. Look man, I said this was going to happen and why long ago. Either listen up or the beating will continue for the offense. I am sorry but this will continue until cord is cut. Eventually the offense will have an ok night and suck some of the stupid fans back into the matrix. This offense was toast by the middle part of 2009.
