Yes, it really is. You know good and well that this law mimics the federal law. They won't be profiling, but if they did, I'm ok with it. Cops aren't out there day in and day out just looking to mess with people. They are just doing their jobs like everyone else.

The terms were established by the city council of Los Angeles proposing a boycott of the state in regards to travel and future contracts. You remarked that AZ could not track this or prove it.

AZ does not need to prove anything. They can just as easily offer a boycott of Los Angeles with or without provocation or a burden of proof.

Well I will say most cops are out there to do their jobs. There is a minority that messes with people, including whitey. I have been harassed by cops most of my life for no other reason then I am big and white, and the odds of me shooting a cop in the face during a pullover is limited. But I have also been treated fairly.

If you disagree with the basic AZ law, that means that you disagree with the federal law as it is written. If you disagree because you think AZ is exceeding their rights as a state, then you have to admit that the fed is not doing anything towards enforcing their own laws. It's one or the other.

I would be curious how everyone would feel if the city they currently live in had the abduction rate of Phoenix? Why should AZ just continue to suffer because a long line of presidents have chosen to pander to illegal immigrants? AZ is forcing the fed to do something. They can choose to fight illegals and make the AZ law null, or they can fight the state and hang themselves as this becomes a bigger issue.

Seriously, is it that complicated? wow.

One of my employees is a Philippino who must leave the country in July. His job is not a "difficult to fill position" as determined by the US government.

Eric is a single parent with 2 elementary aged children. His home in the Philippines was destroyed by a typhoon, he has no place to return to. I consider him a friend. I have spent several thousands of dollars in lawyer fees trying to find a way that he can legally stay in the States. Though he was in the US legally he must now leave.

I am troubled by the situation. But the simple fact is he has to leave. Meanwhile people "blessed" by proximity continue to enter this country illegally, hold jobs and receive services from governmental entities. Illegally.

Selective enforcement and profiling are wrong. Just as selective non-enforcement is wrong.

    Maybe it is that simple.

Maybe they should profile hispanics and then the Mexicans would boycott Arizona.

you're ok with it because you dont have to worry about profiling and that is complete bs, you here about cops everyday that are up to no good. They are human as well.

And its very sad that you are ok with law enforcement pulling someone over because of their look or skin color. When you become a cop, let me know so I wont go to the grocery store anymore.

And how does this law enforce the borders? thats not really smart to make a statement like that. The law deals with the people who are here illegally, how is that enforcing a border?

they do it already though. they didn't need this bill for that. And if Arizona really wants to racially profile, they should just call LAPD, and get a lesson on how the masters do it. :hihi:

we all have our hypocrisy, even me. But its crazy to be ok with something as long as it doesnt effect you directly. wrong is wrong.
    illegal immigration is illegal
    but so is profiling
    deal with the overall problem
    not a horrible patch.
