nobody here has called anyone racist. except me, i call myself racist, because i am racist. that is a different topic though. well, obviously illegal aliens are rarely white, i think that is what they are getting at. again, nobody here called anyone racist. i dont think people should be allowed in illegaly either. lets make it legal. yeah great, some guy is a criminal. good point. let not give them government assistance then. problem solved. two stitches? shoulda toughed it out. again, i think it would be a good idea if kellogg's replaced the spanish with jibberish, in order not to annoy you. or maybe you should unlearn spanish enough that you do not recognize it anymore and you mistake the spanish on the box for really weird decorations. if you cant function in society, maybe you should learn spanish. illegals should be made legal, and they should get insurance. so we agree. i think people should choose whatever languages they want and go with it. it is really none of my business what people speak.
Few things fire me up. This is a biggie for me. One reason why we want to move back home is because of the illegal immigrant situation. Although I did see a billboard in spanish in Lafayette this weekend. Watch out, they're comming.
I really don't see what the big deal is with directions/labels/prompts for phone services being multi-lingual. This is a democracy and freedom reigns. We don't have an official language, why should everything be catered to the English speakers?
For some reason I cant post unless I add one or more characters. So, I'm adding them. Havent figured out how the whole multi quotes thing goes.
I see martin's point, but he takes it to extremes as usual. Illegal aliens must be arrested and deported, period. Legal immigration must be controlled, but it doesn't have to be overly restrictive. We can open up legal channels for guest and seasonal workers to America at the same time that we eliminate criminal wetbacks. If we have a job that needs doing, Americans aren't available, and an immigrant is willing to do it, them give him a work visa and let him work. This way we can make sure that: 1. He'll be working, not stealing or begging. 2. He'll get minimum wage so he can afford to pay rent. We don't need barrios and shack cities of a low-paid underclass here like they have in Mexico, India, and most of the third world. Like they are already making in New Orleans. 2. He pays taxes like everyone else for the privilege of the safe and free environment our government proveides. 3. He'll be checked for communicable disease, we don't need small pox and aids cases. 4. He'll be checked for criminal background. We don't need more criminals and barrio gangs. 5. He'll be checked for national security red flags. We don't need revolutionary extremists and terrorists. 6. We can insure that he is working jobs that Americans aren't filling, like crop pickers, hotel maids, and busboys. And that he is not taking away jobs from Americans in the construction and trucking industries just to cut corporate costs by employing underpaid workers. 7. He can be tracked and deported if he fails to meet the criteria he agreed to.
i will not dispute the point that supafan is super super special. but seriously, whats the difference with bilingual stuff? many places are bilingual, it seems to work out ok. when i visit montreal, i am not driven insane by the fact that everything is written in french and english. i cant understand the french, so i read the english and everything works out. i think so yes. muslims need some serious scrutiny, but as for the mexos, bienvenidos a america. government is failing when they cannot communicate with their citizens. if you go to the DMV and nobody speaks english, that is a problem. but as far as private people and companies go, i dont expect them to know english unless they want my business. and even then not really, i am happy to do business en espanol, even though when i speak spanish i have the vocabulary of a retarded child.
