well, fair enough, i dunno how these guys are living then, if it is government assistance then i agree that is terrible, whether these fellas are americans or not. of course i still favor free school for their kids. my experience with illegals here up north is that they work really hard and take crappy jobs and are very nice to me. i dont mean to say i favor government handouts, i am only saying that i think we are bit overboard with the xenophobia. i want more people to enjoy the freedoms of america. if a latin american guy wants freedom from his oppressive government and he likes the way america works, i say bring him on, i agree with him.

I agree with thier children getting free education also (as long as the learn English). this way maybe they will strive to be better then thier parents that I have to deal with on such a regular basis! Maybe then my opinions could have a better chance of changing, but right now with what I see it is what it is!

If we had a free immigration policy, how many do you think would come here just for the free stuff our gov't gives away? That amount alone would be much more than they make from where they came. Then we'd have a housing shortage, driving up prices like in NYC. One NYC is fine, but I don't want them all over the country. Ultimately, we'd end up like China and start limiting the number of kids. Seriously, you can't be suggesting we allow everyone in who wants to come here?
yes, that is what i am suggesting. we would definitely need to to cut down the free giveaways, but that is true whether immigrants come or not. we would never end up like china, because we are a more developed country, and developed countries do not have crazy population growth. immigrants might have lots of kids, but their kids wouldnt, they would be normal americans who only want a couple kids. maybe the population losses in the coutries people were leaving would encourage them to run their place more like america. that would be nice.
From a person who lives in Houston, Tx- I'm fed up when if you are opposed to offering pardons to illegals you are a racist. Since when is an illegal alien a race? I could care less what race you are or what country you're from. If you were not born here I dont believe you should be 1. allowed in illegally 2. provided with the same tax funded programs that citizens have 3. allowed to sue citizens and 4. allowed to work Many illegals are criminals, gang members and sex offenders. I guess they will do work that "Americans wont do themselves". What happens if they are automatically made citizens? Do you really think that someone would continue to work at a chicken plucking factory for below minimum wage when they could apply for government assistance? Doubtful. And yes, you do in fact wait 6 hours for emergency hospital care. My husband cut his finger one Sunday. It wasnt bad enough to freak out, but it did require stitches. After hour places were closed, so we made the trip to the ER. 7 hours later he recieved two stitches. We were two of 70 people in the ER who spoke English. The hospital check in barely spoke English. The PA who stitched up my husband said that he works multiple OT because illegals use ER's as their birthing places. And yes, it's annoying to me to press "1" or that Kellogs are en espanol. It's annoying when you go into Lowes and the directions of two out of three items is in Spanish. Then trying to find someone who works there (a chore in any city) to have them tell you "Wait, um, let me find someone who can translate that for you" How about get me the directions in English? Driving is a nightmare because people from other countries still drive like they are living at home. If you have ever traveled outside of the US you know what I'm talking about. I pay big bucks for my insurance due to illegals getting in wrecks and running off because they dont have insurance. I have to pay big bucks to CMA. Immigration doesnt screw the big guys. They have their orange pickers, their meat cutters, their sewer cleaners. They are apart of big coorporation legalized slavery. Immigration hurts the little guys. It hurts my friend who got into a three car crash and is being sued by the illegal guy he hit, it hurts local business owners who cant keep up with competing prices from companies who hire illegal workers, it hurts me who couldnt find a good job for a year after graduation because I wasnt 100% bilingual. I dont have a problem with people wanting to move to the US. Heck, that's how we all got here. Just do it by legal means, get a job, pay taxes, be a contributing member of society, and learn to speak English. Maintain your culture- that's great, that's what America is all about, different cultures living together. Just dont take advantage of what many honest, hard working people have fought for.
