I thought we were clearly the better team. The Perrilloux fumble gave them an easy 7 (props to Holliday for running him down and knocking him out of bounds, guys got GUTS). If LaFell makes his catch and doesn't throw the ball up in the air and let Auburn intercept, we had at least another field goal. LaFell needs to sit, and Doucet, Tolliver and Byrd need to play. And yes, Les needs to do better on clock management. Wouldn't we have all felt stupid if Byrd failed to make the catch and time had expired, and we had a timeout left when the game was over, and didn't even try a field goal? Ballsy, but stupid. Flynn looked like he regained his form in the second half. It appears to me he really likes to throw to Doucet. Hester has a ton of guts, love that guy. Loved the Keiland Williams touchdown, that kid has great speed. Charles Scott looked good also. I loved the character the team showed. Whoever played in Dorsey's place did a good job, was it Al Woods, I think. Jackson made some great plays at corner; I didn't begrudge him the last touchdown, I thought he did as well as he could and got beat by a perfect play, give Cox credit. The first half wasn't much fun, kinda like having a root canal job, but the second half was that intense high quality football that Auburn and LSU lay on each other. Great game!!! :geauxtige
I,ll give these kids their due, most of them are playing their hearts out.They could have very well won the UK game...it was just a sliver away from them. After that emotional and physically draining game against UF they still were in position to win the thing at the end, against a "very" good UK team. Thats one of the reasons I believe that the "Poll Elite" saw fit to just bounce them a tad, and they're responding. Stupid miscues and penalties will kill ya, It happened at UK and tonight. They've got to grow up some more and in one hell of a hurry.They "are" a bit beat up, but the bye will help correct a lot with that. I think our defense is (for lack of a better word) "tired"...they need this week off badly. please justify this statement, because right now I am thinking that cocaine is a hell of a drug................ the ball had just bounced off the receiver when Steltz made the hit - and it was not helmet to helmet. You can't penalize him for that as he had no time to pull up.
My guess is that Les gets some sort of bonus for having Pontiac Game Changing plays. What is this going to be, three for the year?
