That's because the EAR WAX CANDLE COMPANY which employes 2500 people in Auburn would have to either close down or relocate. It's hard to move that many trailors.  :911:

I know he's a fine coach and all, but I'd want no part of Will becoming HC, or any other current assistant for that matter, should Nick leave now.

Why? Two words: Mike Archer. Sure, it's unfair to ignore other assistants who were elevated to HC for dominant programs and had success (Tom Osborne and Larry Coker come to mind), but that whole Archer fiasco has scarred me for life, I'm afraid.

Nick Saban's done much to turn LSU football from a football Ford Escort into a Ferarri Testarossa, and I'd hate to hand the keys over to someone who's never sat behind the wheel before of any car, at any time, period.

Agree, he is not ready now, but if he sticks with Saban 5-6 more years, I think he will be. Some assistant Coaches do make good head coaches. You gotta start somewhere. Stoops, Richt, Amato (sp?), etc.

this topic reminds me of a little known nugget needed to be shared...

who fired Steve Spurrer when he was a QB coach @ Ga Tech?

Bill Curry, former yellow jacket HC who then took the HC job at Kentucky. Spurrier then went to UF and proceeded to beat Curry 7 straight years. badly.

Part of me would like to see Jimbo become the new head coach if Saban were to leave, but with the condition LSU is in right now (very good condition), I think we would be better off with somebody that has proven Head coach experience and knows how to win. Our fans don't want to wait a couple years for Jimbo to get the experience he might need before being a good head coach. LSU wants somebody that can guarantee success.

I respect what Jimbo has done, but I don't want him to be the next HC. Muschamp and Dooley are the stars on this staff (NS excluded).

At least we have a coach. Ole Piss is down to desperation time and talking to Erickson. Get him and ya'll will be on probation in two years.
