LSU and Saban want no hype

Let Georgia have it all ... set 'em up like bowling pins ... we'll mow their azzes down again

I agree. Why does any LSU fan want to be ranked #1 in preseason anything? It's a dumazz thing to want. A bull's eye.

    I don't buy into that bullseye crap, a true champion don't have any worries. I also like our ranking by all of these polls, even the bull**** ones :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

All this bitching about lack of respect is getting old.

If they're wrong, the football team will prove that on the field. WE don't even know what the team is gonna do in 2004. All of you guys could be eating your words by seasons end. Hopefully not, but you just don't know.

Nick Saban said last week he understands why USC, Oklahoma and Georgia is picked over LSU ... they all have an experienced QB returning and LSU doesn't!

Now, if Saban understands and admits this, why can't some of you?

OK. I think, by now, we all know your feelings on the subject. Let's assume that you don't like the complaining about lack of respect from here on out, shall we?

These pre-season writers really are hung up on Maucks departure and are expecting a significant drop-off from LSU this year. Why else would teams that couldn't beat us last year get ranked above us? But I don't think we will have a big drop-off and I don't think we lack QB talent. Jimbo could have worse problems than a log-jam at QB with a 5th-year senior former starter and a Parade All-American in the mix.

These polls are supposed to be rating the teams as they are now, but I think the sportswriters are looking ahead to LSU's rugged road schedule and de-valuing the Tigers in advance. Nobody (including most of us) expect LSU to get through road games at three Top-15 teams undefeated.

But right now, LSU is the undefeated, defending national champion until somebody beats us. Polls be damned!

    RANDALL HAS NO EXPERIENCE????

Gee, I must have been dreaming these last two years ...

I guess the Wizard of Phukking OZ threw the TD to Devery Henderson against Kentucky and the LSU backup QB in 2003 had a 160 QB rating

They can stick it in their ESPN & Sporting news

Everyone should relax... Preseason rankings don't mean squat. Does anyone remember Auburn being ranked #6 last year in the preseason and predicted to be the national champion last year just before USC came down and humilliated them?

It's the final rankings that the game is all about.. anything could happen between now and then... You think USC would still be ranked #1 if they lost their QB? Same goes for any team. Truth of the matter is, it's a huge spot to fill, whether the rest of the team is elite or not.

Lets just support them and let them do their thing....

    Geaux Tigers!

ONCE AGAIN, I have no problem with the poll ranking – it’s a dream come true to be pre-season Top 5 and ahead of juggernauts like Miami, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State and Texas…

    Knock Knock!?

    Who’s There?

    LSU… We’ve arrived – make room.

My qualms are with the writers who continue to discount LSU in discussions about UGA and the SEC. LSU will be in the NC Picture one way or another – either as a contender or as a potential spoiler. It is irresponsible for a journalist to overlook this time and time again. The reasoning behind favoring UGA is ludicrous.

Consider this Jerry Springer style analogy… if you came to my house and stood on my lawn barking your head off – I walk outside and beat the crap out of you until your nose is blowing blood bubbles and your head is spinning. In one last gasp you hit me with a lucky uppercut that barely catches my attention and then I leave you for dead.

For the next couple of weeks you (and everyone else) drive around town making excuses about why you got humiliated and beaten to a pulp and I sit around taking it all in until…

I go over to YOUR house, pull you out of your recliner, drag you onto your own front yard, beat you senseless in front of everyone you know (and a national TV audience) until you lie there making snow angels in the grass, hose you down, humiliate you, burn your house down, steal your dog, steal your girlfriend and drive off in your car leaving you for dead once again.

7 months later the national media is suggesting that YOU will kick MY ass next time around because I lost some snap on my left jab.

I have asked this a million times: Can they stop our run attack? Can they protect the QB? Can they run the ball? Can they beat our DB’s all game with a one-dimensional offense? NO!

    What has changed????????????????????????????????????????
