I have heard some of the same stuff Nootch, they just showed the roof of the Houma Civic Center though on tv on the weather channel.
a brick wall on one side collapsed and the roof went bye bye. the 42040 buoy south of dauphin island is reporting 33 ft. seas. thats the only one i can get a report out of right now. the larger shell ones south of al, ms, and la are not reporting wave height.
no sh!t? Got a reliable report that neither Montegut nor Chauvin are flooded "yet" both levees are holding so far, but are at capacity.
I haven't seen anything confirmed yet Nootch, and I am also watch wwl tv on line right now, and they haven't said anything yet.
The guy I talked to is the fire cheif for Chauvin. He had just driven around both Montegut and Chauvin. Said they both are taking pretty extensive wind damage, but so far the levees are holding.
Still got power in Breaux Bridge but the gusts are getting stronger. My sh!tzu is nervous as hell. My lab is asleep.:hihi:
sounds like the water is near the top. but no flooding yet. i wonder how the ms. coast is? we have water 20 feet from our house but it wont get in it. our neighbors apparently have a few inches in their house already. are any places flooding severely yet?
