My house is in Larose, my camp is in Bayou Dularge... I am screwed... would appreciate any updates on levees, flooding, damage, wind etc... btw, I am in Tampa... was in Florida for business just had my parents, who live in lockport, pull down the storm shutters... ugh...
Kenny, I hope you've got your insurance up to date...I'll keep my fingers cross and add you to my prayers. I'm pulling for 20 miles of wetlands to be enough to absorb the surge to Morgan City, and praying my roof can deal with 115 mph sustained. Good luck and God bless to everyone in the path.
8:00 and we still have power in Hundred Oaks. We lose power if it gets cloudy usually, its the price we pay for the big old trees. Out for 8 days after Katrina, almost the last neighborhood in Baton Rouge to get power back. But there is a big squall line coming and I expect to be out of power within the hour. My barometer is under 30 inches and dropping fast. We still haven't had any torrential rain, my DirecTV hasn't even washed out. It's getting gusty, but these hurricane squalls are eerie because they have little thunder and lightning. Lots of wind noise now, but no thunder.
A little tighter view than what Red just posted. Nootch, if you need anything, holla. I'm sorry I couldn't make it pass you to the east. I sure tried! http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...min=2&num_stns_max=9999&avg_off=9999&smooth=0
Very heavy winds here in Gonzales. The pool shed is gone in the back yard. More branches than I can count. Plywood on front windows sounds like drums at some points with stuff hitting it. a bit more than we expected so far.....
And one for you, sir. Looks like you still have a ways to go. http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...&lightning=0&smooth=0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0
