saw some pics online somewhere (gonna go look for them) water on hwy 90 in Gulfport, looked 3 foot deep or so, so that's not terrible.
Heres the link to those pics http://news.aol.com/article/fearing...t/152235?icid=100214839x1208739629x1200476694
Thanks. It sounds like they are going to be ok. Of course all of the reports center around whether or not they will be able to open the casinos tomorrow.
this has certainly been bad for us here in gonzales. our oak tree in our front yard is uprooted onto neighbors house. two large oaks across the street are down as well. fortunately back yard oak is still up. swimming pool has taken lots of damage. family is all ok!
power went out here at around twelve. saltyone was very kind and loaned us his generator after tailgate. so we are watching weather reports I am using mobile phone. all lines to house are down, including fiber for internet. thanks for the generator salty!
I just got off the phone with the owner of the TV cable in Morgan City. He said "major damage to the power grid", but we did not get any problem flooding, and my house is OK. Also heard from a CLECO guy, who said the same thing about the power throughout the area...
