Yep, talked to family from Houma that left. Their neighbors did not. It appears my nephews house is good for now but the neighbors that stayed have no roof and the house next door had a tree fall through the roof and a wall. The neighbor that stayed said he should have left, part scared and part pissed.

Actually can't say. Never been to his house. He comes up to Thibodeaux when we visit or drives over to my Daughters place in Ocean Springs, otherwise it's family reunions
I am starting to hear more about how bad it is today. Seems family made it through, at least the ones we've heard about so far. Got some with bad roof damage in Hahnville. Wife has a huge family, 11 brothers and sisters and around 40 nieces and nephews. Family reunions are a blast.

EDIT- Thibodeaux side of town, not far from the mall.

Houma and Thibodaux got hit very hard is what I'm hearing. Points east as well, all the way to New Orleans and even as far inland as Baton Rouge. Unlike Katrina, it sounds like the west bank of the river at New Orleans took the worst of it. Orleans Parish is going to be without power for a good while, but they didn't get flooded like in '05. I just spoke to the utility director of Morgan City, and it looks like we could have full power restored by the end of the day. Cell phones could be longer, hearing AT&T could a pretty strong hit.

The north shore was fortunate. Not too much damage just no power, Internet or cell. Left for Houston so I could work.

We are good. Neighbor has a tree through his roof. Same for neighbor on next street...tree through garage. I had a limb fall. Feeling pretty blessed.

Got the yard cleaned today. Heading to Fla in the morning.

Been looking at pictures online on my break. The more we hear the worse it seems to get. Still haven't heard from a couple of folks but some of the ones that stayed say never again.
