Thanks for this chart. How often is it updated? I can't keep watching the weather channel...getting little 3 minute snippets here and there...where it takes me 4 hours of watching to get 30 minutes worth of friggin knowledge. Yes...mark it down...I have switched my hatred for ESPN (signed with SEC) and placed it firmly on the shoulders of the Weather Channel. I swear that Cantori creams his pants at the thought of this thing. He had been trying to make it a hurricane for 3 days until it finally became one this morning. It was almost like he had an orgasm when he was finally able to call it a hurricane. :rolleye33:
If the hurricane makes landing at the projected point in south Louisiana, wouldn't New Orleans and Lake Pontrachain be on the NE quadrant of the eye, and therefore in a nasty situation?
Yes. and as it has been pointed out, that would mean New orleans would have worse conditions than it did during Katrina. Now that doesn't mean the levee will break again, but as far as wind and storm surge.
Notorious speed trap on I-49 north at the Washington exit. Don't be a mile over 70 coming over that overpass.
From the wind, yes, but much less of a storm surge than a storm coming across Breton Sound. Baton Rouge got hit hard with wind during Hurricane Andrew which was a big one that came up the Atchafalaya Basin.
Yep, i called my parents after the game today and they are boarding the house up in ole Pierre Part. I want no part of that path either.....
Amen to the speed trap. Those guys are there every time I pass. EVERY TIME. I know one of those cop's name is Franklin Jones...because it was written at the bottom of my ticket. He had on a bright green vest, and weightlifting gloves!!
Our house already has water to the yard and a few inches from coming to wharf level. Our house shouldnt flood, but more than likely one of the huge boats that are anchored yards away will end up in the wharf or yard.
