I woke up in New Orleans on the morning of my wedding (9/7/74) and turned on the TV. There was Nash Roberts pointing at a map with about 200 magnetic arrows on it. I said: "Uh Ohhhhhhhhh". Hurricane Carmen was heading right at the city. It made a westerly turn at the last minute and went over Vermilion Bay catching all of my relatives who had hauled ass back to St Martin Parish.
Red55 and anyone else this might pertain to... If you have gas stored since Rita, I suggest you go get some more because unless you've used fuel stabilizers, it's not going to ignite in the combustion chambers of your various engines. Gas is volatile and breaks down rather quickly...has about a six month shelf-life, then it's all downhill at an exponential rate. Just FYI.
I'm no meteorologist, but I'm predicting that these 5 systems meet up and join forces to become one giant megastorm. It will be called Hurricane Satan. But don't worry, we'll get ebt cards from FEMA.
