Yup. Makes no sense. They could do so many other things to limit the risk without just banning officials. Maybe they are hoping people skip the early signing period and open things up in January but even then you miss early enrollment and actual football.
I think they're just scared to make a decision that impacts all of college ball when so many states are in complete disagreement on levels of covid enforcement.. lot of places out West a lot less open than down south.
