i agree entirely. that healthcare plan was about as terrible an idea as the government could come up with, it would have made our lives much worse. if you want communism, start your own communist country. the republicans crushing that plan is another reason why i favor republicans even though they are run by religious wackos.

same thing with social security. the government should never forcibly take money from people unless they really really really have to. that ruins everything. simply put, big government is bad. i dunno why our friend left wing red always favors government controlling our lives.

i agree 100%. kids in school should be forced to read that paragraph.

You should google up some info on Hillary. She is definitely a moderate, always has been, and so was Bill. She votes moderate, Kennedy despises her, and Cindy Sheehan has already blasted her. She is not the far-left candidate. She is the moderate democratic candidate. There are others, too.

Oh, she's to the left of you, all right, but all of the moderates and the liberals are to the left of you. Not all democrats are liberal extremists. Rank the democrats and you'll find that Hillary is to the right of democratic center along with John Edwards and Wesley Clark.. Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry etc. are on the left.

in terms of fiscal policy, everyone, including republicans, is way too far to the left.

Spoken like someone who won't have to rely on SSI to survive.

Anybody who relies totally on SS to survive will face an impoverished retirement.

What is your point, actually? I'm a supporter of Social Security. The public is against privatization of SS because they are looking for more security in retirement, not more risk. There are already several government-sponsored private investment plans that people have available to them (IRA, Roth, 401-K, Keough, deferred comp., etc). There are many thousands of completely private investment plans, annuities, and funds out there as well.

right, and they want taxpayers like me and you to finance that security. i advise them to get in a time machine and move to russia 30 years ago, or learn to invest on their own.
